Mbr Wardrobe.

Recommended Posts

Is it true that 5 ft wardrobes is not suitable for sliding doors (as opposed to casement)?

Debating now to either a 11ft (L-shape due to shape of mbr) in casement, or 6 ft in one straight line with sliding doors, or die die do l-shape in 11 ft with sliding doors. Reason the contractor gave was that with a 5 ft wardrobe, each panel will be abt 2.5 ft and the sliding door will be kinda shaky when being pulled.

:help:

ask your contractor to fly kite....2.5ft is only @75cm. ask him / her how big is a normal door? unless the track used is of low quality, otherwise it ok

I'm not too sure which side he's referring to. Because if it's in a l-shape with 1 side 6 ft then another 5ft, the 6ft door may not be the full 6 ft. It may be 'eaten' up by the other side been extended out. Erm, hope it makes sense... if it's really the 6 ft being eaten up by 2 more ft (for the extending part), then it will become 4 ft only (2 ft per panel). Will it b shaky then? :(

for a full height door, think anything less than 3ft will be shaky?

esp for wardrobe where there's only the top and bottom track, without the side metal frames :(

Apple, I think can leh. Cos my mbr wardrobe is at most 6.4ft in width. And both of us have enough space from top to bottom. Only thing is wardrobe is not full height as have a beam there & its the only place suited to place a wardrobe there near the toilet & mbr door.

Sky, my wardobe got sliding doors but I doubt it will be shaky cos reason is that the sliding doors are a bit heavy from the feel when closing and opening. That time I went to the furniture shop and test out the wardrobes some like less than 5ft with sturdy sliding doors. Why don't you try going on a 'test drive' at some furniture shops check out those wardrobes that are less than 5ft alone see how the doors.

Hee hee if like this, then why not even bunk inside your wardrobe?*notti* In japan got ppl bunk in their wardrobe which they put their thin mattress & thick blanket for storing. Come night time, they'd climb in & bunk in to sleep. These types are for very small houses which doubles up living as dining & vice versa

my whole life is inside my wardrobe, that's why 6ft is just nice :sport-smiley-004:
