Recommendation Needed For Parquet Floor Repair

Recommended Posts

There is a crack on my room's parquet floor near the toilet and water is seeping in.

Does anyone has any recommendation for parquet floor repair with good workmanship? It would be good if anyone can share the cost for such repairs cos I'm on tight budget :P

Since you are on budget , maybe you can try to DIY, using wood patty? you can find them in Home fix. jus fill up the crack and varnish a little will do.

But if you looking for a perfect repair, likely a professional has to come in to remove the cracked pc and select to the most matching color of your mature wood. That will cost you around $80 per pc not including transport and labour.

Having said that, it not advisable to remove any pc of parquet cos they are joint by tongue & groove , so you have to ensure proper maintenance over the area repaired. If not over time tat pc will come loose too.

Having read the generally positive reviews about Mr Wood Varnish on this thread, I decided to get them to sand and revarnish my wooden floor. Bad choice ! Not only did they do a poor job (used the wrong type of varnish) but also dragged the job on for weeks eventhough they told me a few days to complete the job (presumably becoz they had other more important work to do). I would not recommend them ever again ! Maybe my bad luck in getting a lousy staff appointed to handle my case I dunno but I think it their attitude reflects poor management.
