countrylover 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2008 Hi Countrylover, Like the displays on the living room table. Did you buy them at ebay? I recently bought a shabby chic wall clock with pink roses as background and a bathroom sign from ebay. Waiting for the items to be sent to me around this week. Can't wait to see how the actual things look like. Hope better than the pics. By the way, did you check out the website I have given you regarding country furniture? Cheers, Yup, bought them all from ebay. Did you also purchase yours from ebay USA? There are also some people in S'pore selling country stuff in Yahoo auctions, maybe you can also check it out. Surfing and buying from ebay is so addictive! Nowadays, I really try to avoid going to ebay, cos once there, I'll be very tempted to buy this and that. I found an US website which sells quite nice country-style items. Recently bought some decorative plates and cushions and had them shipped over via vpost. The prices are very reasonable too, compared to what people are selling on ebay. They also have an ebay store, though they offer more in their website. http://www.collectionsetc.com/ Thanks, I've checked out the website, but I think it'll be quite troublesome to buy from M'sia right? What if there are problems with the items, then arranging for exchange/returns will be quite a hassle. Do you have any idea of the price range there? Btw, how did you know it's the same company as the one in IFC?

countrylover 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2008 Hi country lover love ur quilt!!!!!!! it definitely adds a touch of country to the entire livingroom! Thanks. Having quilts at home definitely adds warmth and coziness to get a country feel. In fact, I want everything at home from table cloths and table runners to cushion covers and bed covers to be quilted. But unfortunately, I only have so much time everyday, can't devote all my time into my quilting projects. Currently working on a single bed quilt for my daughter. Most likely can only complete by the end of the year. If you are interested to purchase quilts, you can try Quilts n Sew Forth at Aliwal Street. That's where I took quilting lessons. The quilts there are so beautiful, sure to make u !

No lah, I try not to buy bulky items and furniture from ebay. Bought my display table from Picket & Rail at about $500+ I think.
countrylover 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2008 hihi... any ebay sellers or online stores to recommend??? wld like to do more deco ..... What kind of country-style decor are u looking for? Shabby chic, primitive, English country etc? I'm generally into a mixture of shabby and primitive stuff. You can try the following : http://stores.ebay.com/Andy-and-Me-Country-Treasures http://stores.ebay.com/APPLE-TREE-CRAFTS-AND-COLLECTIBLES http://stores.ebay.com/BEARCOTTAGE-CRAFTS http://stores.ebay.com/Petals-And-Paint http://stores.ebay.com/Sarah-J-Home-Decor http://stores.ebay.com/Pretty-and-Chic-Online http://stores.ebay.com/Flowering-Gum-Country-Homewares Some of those above might not ship directly to Singapore, so will have to go thru vpost. Maybe a few of us can combine orders to save on shipping. Last nite, I was digging through the stuff I bought and taking some out to display and my HB simply stared at me and shaked his head in disbelief! When I bought them, I had them hidden from his view, cos I know he'll surely grumble, knowing what I've been spending my money on.
yuene 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2008 Hi! Nice home you've got there--I like the country style, though I can't really do that for my own home (knick-knacks + hyperactive kitties = disaster). I was wondering if you could share your carpenter's contact? Thanks!

countrylover 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2008 hey vivien.. can share the address of the quilt shop at gilman village? i also wanna go see. is the quilts expensive there? they sell quilts or its a learning shop? The quilt shop is at 64 Aliwal Street, near to Arab Street. Can check out their website at : http://www.quiltsnsewforth.com.sg/ I'm not sure how much are the quilts, need to go down to check. Look for the lady boss Bridgette, she's my quilt instructor, very nice lady. From what I see, most of the quilts for sale there are those we use for display, not so much for use as bedding. But of cos, can always use them as bed throws. You can also let them know the designs u like and commission them to make one for u. vivien and isasoap.. add me in! i also wan to order together! Not sure when I would buy from USA again, cos lately spent too much on my home deco and furnishings. Will let u ladies know if I'm getting anything. Btw, how's your new home? Share share your photos!
