compassvale 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 I sent my black out curtains to cotton care for dry cleaning the week before chinese new year. Upon receipt. Cotton Care called me to inform that there were some black stains on my curtains which they may not be able to remove. We told them it was fine and just do what they can to dry clean. They did not mention about the potential damage to the latex face. My curtains are blacked out on one side, which means, one side is of latex material. When they were returned to me (last week), they were folded together, with the latex side facing each other. Pressed hard together, and kept in their van for a few weeks, the curtains tore when we tried to open them up to hang. After 2 emails and 1 call to Cotton Care, I finally got to speak with their manager, who tol me that "black out curtains are like that one" . No solution was offered, no apologies were made. They have not also previously informed me that the latex will tear.Felt that Cotton Care should not have folded the curtains this way - on full knowledge that the latex will tear when they stick together, they went ahead to press fold it this way. Not to mention that I was upset with their "just too bad" attitude.Anyone with experience/solution to share?

compassvale 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 If the material is not suitable for drywash, let us knowIf the material will stick together, DONT fold them together and imply "it's like that, just too bad"And there was absolutely no apologies or attempt to offer a solution. Was appalled by the service attitude in particular, not to mention the damaged curtains which has to be replaced, obviously. Sigh
