L.er 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) I need to get a CCTV soon, as the things we put outside our house (hdb flat) always get stolen. Within a short period of time we lost some shoes, doormat, plants and decoration for festive seasons. The door for the utilities metres was once damaged cos someone trying to force open it without a key. Last time in our old house (also a newer flat), all the neighbours leave their shoe racks and sometimes expensive shoes outside but no problem at all.I've checked with some big companies and it's going to cost me above $1k to install one cctv outside my house, I heard there are some cheaper ones which we can get from shop and install ourselves, where are these shops? And, does it mean my computer has to be on for 24/7 if I want to do the recording? Edited February 24, 2008 by L.er

zirhk3355 1 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 Yup, sim lim square and sim lim tower would have what you want.If you want to record the footage, of course your computer will have to be on. Otherwise, you can also get a tape recorder to do the work.Would also recommend you to get those models (no names, sorry...u got to find out) that are motion-activated; ie if the image is the same (no movement), it will stop recording after like 2 to 3 mins and wait until the image changes. This, of course, saves the tape's duration or file size in your computer.
