According to US consumer reviews... Panasonic is the leading brand for plasma TVs.

Though exterior design wise, I prefer Samsung.

Try Clementi Electronics Centre. Other than special offers in SITEX, they have the best deals in town for flat screen TVs.

Any comments on this model?

Was quoted $1850, is it a good deal?

How is it as compared with pana VIERA TH-42PV70H?

hello, I think the Hitachi Plasma is not bad. And for $1850, its a good deal. I got mine at Etronin Home in Tampines. Actually, have you also considered getting LCD? Cos I heard the LCD technology now is better than before, and plus price wise, its cheaper...

Hi, may I know where to get it at $1850? I was quoted $2099. :curse:

Who quoted u $2099? Maybe this price includes some free gifts? Try to bargain with the shop that u don't need the free gifts and give you a better price. (unless you want the free gifts) You try Everjoint. I bought mine around $1850 from HN during Dec 07 IT show. No free gifts.

Hi bro, sorry missed ur post. Kong Tai at Jurong quoted me that price. Anyway, I found another shop selling it at $1850 w/o freebies. $2029 with HD tuner. Have placed deposit liao :)

HN's offer at $1850 is really very good because their prices are always higher due to overheads. BTW, how's ur TV coming along? Any tips on settings to enhance the viewing pleasure? My main concern is watching it with SD programmes since most of the channels are still on SD. Does the CNA crawler look smooth?

Yup, the price is good. Most prob becos i bought it during the IT show. I have been watching for a few mths and the PQ is clear n smooth on SD signal. Esp if you like watching fast action programmes such as soccer, F1 or NBA. No issues on the CNA's moving info text. As tips to enhance the viewing, i think you can read the manual and play ard with the settings till you think it suits u best. Dont worry, you have bought urself a good set. Just sit back and enjoy

I finally got my tv. One word on the pq - fantastic!

Watching channel 5 SD was already very good. HD5 made it better. And because it's a plasma instead of LCD, the fast movement of pple left no ghosts. !! My only gripe, if only I had bought the 50" one !!
