Hi all,Just to update.

We had met Alton at our resale home yesterday.

After going around the house to survey,we had to add a few more items and hack an area too.

There goes my sales profit...

We are still hoping Alton would offer us some freebies..hehehe..hope he read this post..

We had to spend 28k to do my resales 5rm,I hope it doesn`t reach 30k..

if that happens,I would have to make decision to cancel some work.cheers!

What was the scope of your reno? Did you do much hacking and carpentry or glass work? 28k for 5Rm resale is quite cheap!:notti:

Ours cost more then 30k :notti:

Hi,we did not hack our living room, because we like the exsiting granite flooring.

we are hacking and laying,3 bedrooms, kitchen, both toilets, service balcony and service balcony.

As for capentry, study rm will have a L-shape table est 7ftx4.5ft.with shelf.

living rm will have a console, wanted the tv wall feature but we gave up the idea due to buget constraint.

kitchen will have 20ft cabinet that was free from the package, additonal feet will be pay by us..

thats about it..

pending for addional quotation would be hacking of false ceiling **** rm and MBR.

changing of MBR toilet door from bi fold to tempered glass door.

overall, expecting the cost to go up by another 3k or so..

so actual cost would surely exceed 30k! sob..

I put my foot down on study rm display shelves and wardrobes in the other rms. It's tempting but have to stop somewhere. ;)

Now i'm a bit alarmed with the no. of downlights Steven proposed. 30! Even if we get the 2 fans with lightkits, will save us ard 4 downlights only. I dunno how also. Shd we save 2 downlights per fan? Haiz. :bangwall:

Yahoo!!! Handover completed!!! :dancingqueen:

Got one more set of keys to carry around :drunk:

Time to grade to ID and his crew

Painter 7/10 : In general was good but small details like bits of tape or sticker on the wall they didnt scrap off for us before painting. Also that big air bubble which they eventually removed and painted over nicely truth to speak

Carpenter 8.5/10 : Good good.Quite please with our cabinets. Only downside was the laminates 1 piece out of all was yellowish 8| and they had to dismantle the door and changed it, though not their fault cause laminate from another supplier but still its part of carpentry :notti: . Anyway my FH like the MBR wardrobe so much he decided to make the bookcase :notti:

Tiler 9/10 : Very good. Even and very small grout lines. Saturday tell us suppose to work halfday, 6pm still working :notti:

Window/Grilles 8/10 : No complaints. The patch up of the walls after they put in the windows was quite well done, evenly patched. Didnt leave any debries like small stones or bits of plaster in the track after installation, so i guess they clean up

Cleaner 8/10 : No complaints. They even clean the old grilles and windows we did not changed. Especially our toilet windows waah really clean till shiny

Plumber 7/10 : Okay but when drilling mounting hold he cracked 1 of our tiles so give him lower rating :notti::notti:

Electrician 7/10 : Okay also but he forgot 1 socket!!!! 8| in the end had to lay the trunking outside cause the cornice already put in. Otherwise was good

And the main person, the ID

Steven 9/10 : Very satisfied with his service. He is very thorough in his checking, sticks to the schedule very well, suggestions given were good also, response to our questions and request was prompt and speedy, attention to detail was good, very regular and frequent in his updates on the progress to us. We felt so comfortable with his work and him and Max, we made our last payment yesterday when he handed over the keys when the norm would be to hold it a while to check the place to make sure its all okay.

Oh yeah after reading the Ho Bee thread, i think I should highlight it here also. The quote we got HAD NO HIDDEN COST. We paid the exact same amount that was given to us on the quote we sign plus the additional cost for 1 or 2 sockets which we requested for after we sign the quote.

Hi Everyone,

I will soon be renovating my place and was wondering did anyone take a Reno loan for your reno with Ideal House? How does it work? And are they tied up with Hitachi?

Last but not least, appreciate if anyone could pm me Steven's no.

Thanks! :yamseng:

if u take a loan through any ID/contractors, they will earn comission from the bank. why dun u just approach the bank directly?

Hi mud3210,

I'm not planning to loan from the bank cos many of my friends told me they are very sticky and usually will loan up to 30k only....

Heard that Hitachi credit is more lax but just not too sure how to go about the payment during the reno....
