boinbi 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2008 My kitchen window is facing the west. Hence, from late afternoon to evening, it's extremely hot and glaring in the kitchen. Any idea to cut down the heat and glare besides installing curtains (I think it'd turn oily easily and hard to maintain) ?

Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted January 14, 2008 How about roller blinds? When not in use, it's rolled up. Normal curtains or venetian blinds or bamboo chick or another blinds will trap dirt and oil from your cooking. If your kitchen window is not too big, go to Ikea to see which of the standard sizes that they have can fit your use. No need to spend extra money to custom make roller blinds in this part of the house.
