Air 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 (edited) i feel you should listen to your contractor.. is him who coordinate his workers to work.. cannot everything listen to your neighbours, because is not your neighbours who does the reno.. if anything goes wrong, who holds the responsibility? since your contractor said say can do later on.. trust him ba.. is not like he is doing a lousy job.. and you need to supervised his workers.. that will make you more tiring.. abt entering your house.. i side with you.. if is me.. i also not happy lor.. how can suka suka enter? your case smiliar to one i encounter recently.. my blk, i think is doing 30th floor.. 1st round hacking.. around 7 plus, workers still working.. bring the rubbish down.. this lady happens to be in the same lift as me and the bangla worker.. the lady asked the worker "which unit you all renovating?", "can i go up to take alook on one of the days?" the bangla no choice but nod head.. that time i thinking.. wah liao can suka suka go up see other ppl's unit.. without permission also.. kns.. other ppl's house so nice to see meh.. ya i agree with xinyi....why bother listening to your neighbours?!? You are renovating YOUR house, not renovating THEIR house....why shd you listen to them so much?!?! Your mum is right....your neighbours too free nothing to do, always go around kpo-ing your reno... As for trespassing your unit, I also agree that if any scratches, who is accountable for it? Maybe you should make it clear to your neighbours that there is no problem with your reno and everything is going as planned and you trust your contractor 100% as he has been responsible so far and that you appreciate their concern.....now only reno part already come and kpo...imagine next time you move in liao, they also suka suka come into your house when your door is open!?!? Fifi 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 xinyi, same thinking as u since my contractor says can then i shd listen to him i wonder how the indian will feel if his boss's customers asked him to do the things directly... i mean, is like by-passing the boss and the boss dunno wat had been done, wat havent been done any ways that i can hint subtlely in the forum that they shd at least ask for my permission before entering my house, even though there're workers inside? i mean, that is the basic courtesy rite? i know i wont do this to other ppl. but apparently, my parents told me it's very common when the flats are under reno. not only neighbours, some passers-by may just pop in like dat remembered one sunday i was at my new place. then this young couple open my main door. yes! my main door is SHUT! they opened it and saw me and some neighbours inside talking. they just apologised saying they thot is show flat then closed the door WTF!! show flat will put a sign there mah... their eyes got stamp huh? got see signages there meh? ya i agree with xinyi....why bother listening to your neighbours?!? I believe the contractor knows best what to go and when to do what first....your neighbours are merely trying to be smart alecks....sometimes older generation ppl, especially aunties and uncles, like to show that they know everything Maybe just tell them, you appreciate their concern and there is no need to "ma fan" them for always popping by to check on your reno...you can check on the progress yourself.....if they still didn't get the hint, maybe ask the workers to tell them not to step in the house when the reno is in progress.... wah lau...i didn't even know if got anybody stepped into my house during my reno leh...cos i nvr go up to check....but ignorance is sometimes bliss....
