Cavie 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2008 After browing renotalk.com for the past 1 month, I'm getting very excited towards my own renovation. Really thanks to those who share their valuable tips and experiences, I cut down many unnecessary mistakes. I bought a 3-room flat in Bedok in November. I had collected the key on 1/1/2008 (a good start to 2008 ) and completion is scheduled on 11/1/2008.I had handover my existing flat to the new owner last week and was storing all my barang barang temporarily with a friend. My contractor promised to complete the wet work before CNY so that I can move my barang barang into 1 room first.Cavie

Cavie 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 (edited) Went down today again....the wall between the kitchen and living was hacked and the MBR toilet wall also hacked..super impressed as they only gotten the approval from HDB yesterday...no PE required..heng ah... saved $600-$800 according to my contractor..after hacking away the wall, the living room and kitchen look much bigger and brighter :-) the MBR toilet also looks acceptable now..at least a reasonable size that I can have a comfortable shower there Also aftering discussing with my contractor, we had come up with a prelimnary design including all the material used..Here is a "hand-sketched" layout. I will be getting some prospective or 3D drawing in a week's time. This contractor has a different work style. He doesn't believe in "designing" the house in the early stage. He says 99% of the home owner will change their mind as things goes along.. sure enough, i changed my mind so many times on the theme and design that I lost count too... but luckily, this contractor is very reliable and did not keep adding $$ for everything I requested additional (not major things lah). Cavie 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2008 think my doggies look sad cos i woke them up, push and pull at them for the photo session normally they have smiley faces and most neighbours and friends always commented that they din know dogs can smile wan heheh..hi sam, thanks for the encouragement..infact the fun part is handing the reno alone as i won't have any objection to any crazy or impractical ideas (阿Q 精神) but also means no one to share my reno cost
