this magic snake oil has been around for a few years liao - keeps coming back despite complaints to CASE.

in USA, when a product's advertisement claimed can do this/that but in real life it couldnt = prepared to be sued for millions. In sg, we consumers are just sheeps.

Got la,

Some examples of R&D in sustainability are energy saving projects which include the use of high frequency electronic self ballast lamp for outdoor lightings, LED lighting for lift car and the relocation & reduction of lighting luminaires for existing Multi-Storey Car Park.

hehehe, that's when everyone is using it at home liao then hdb implement wor

so most prob this energy-saver thing (if it really works) will be introduced after 90% of the households have it fitted.

as for the solar panels, think it'll be at least 10yrs before we see it anywhere :yamseng::dunno:

i used this device before and still currently now... it simply works.

our bill was quite stable for a few years, even with the tariff went up and down due to the

cost of Fuel in this recent years. No surprise bill.

our bill is abt avg of $280 per month, after using this device, it drop to abt $230-240 every month.

really a saving of 10-20%.

This device only cost abt $200.00 and last up to 10 yrs.

If it can save a minimum of 5% based on $280.00 bill per month, therefore :

$280 x 5% = $14 per month x 12 month/yr x 10 years = $1680.00 total saving

you actually breakeven after 1 yr plus.

P.S i dont work for this company... just a normal consumer of this device

HDB has improve alot in their built items, ranging from design of housing areas as a whole, hdb blocks, gardens and within the units, etc. its just that they don't always advertise everything that they had done coz it will be massive infor and also as most ppl are layman or don't have such knowledge, we don't see the physical thing.

eg. HDB architects have already design the housing blks and areas as a whole living township kind with roof gardens, gardens, landscape that can promote green environment and let ppl utilise them and also beautiful the estate.

they have also using (for new blks) and replace (for old blks) special roof tiles that will help to cool down the top housing units from the intense heat which will normally be experienced by them. we don't see this coz they didnt advertise abt this.

for HDB mechanical and electrical engineers, they have design and use special energy saving electrical items are used as well.

but all these must meet and comply the stringent codes and regulations of Singapore, they cannot anyhow use any items coz they are answerable to the public as they are in the public sector.

eg. architect cannot anyhow design areas with plenty of openings that allow natural lightings due to regulations constraints, eg. load design, etc.

whenever they call for tender (eg.) for electrical items, such as lightings for the whole estate, contractors / tenderers will have to go through rigourous tender exercise where there are basic requirements stated in their specifications on the items. so tenderers have to submit their pricing and technical datas on their proposed items and make sure that these items meet HDB specifications and various requirements stated in their tender documents, stated codes and drawings.

actually we are vy fortunate as the govt takes care of most of the maintenance at a small fee for us. if you go to other countries, eg. HK, there are many 'pte' apartments which are neglected as its self cared system where you nominate your own team of management committee and you have to fork out cash for maintenance (just like sinking funds in condos). just imagine everyone has their own reserves on giving their money (eg. painting of exterior apartments easily cost alot) just to do something to beautify the exterior of their units which don't really benefit them. they even have to engage their own security guards to guard their estate. i have a hk gf whom has come to Singapore for study and work and really envy us for being Singaporean as the govt has provided us with alot of basics necessities which was taken for granted.
