ahberden 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2007 Looking to buy bathroom mixers and shower set from either one of the brands.Which is better? Grohe seems more expensive.Found this on Wiki...The brief history seems to be like this: Hans Grohe founded the company. Later the son sold the brand to an american corporation and set up his own company again. This time round he cannot use hansgrohe, so he used the brand grohe instead. As for which is better, I have not had the chance to compare them. But based on first touch alone, Grohe taps are somewhat smoother when turning them on/off compared to hansgrohe, but the price is very much different! Hansgrohe is the original company created by Hans Grohe. His son created Grohe and made Hansgrohe specialise in showers and Grohe in mixers (or faucets). Then Klaus Grohe, current CEO of Hans Grohe took control of the company and Grohe got sold (and has been sold numerous times). Hansgrohe is still owned by the Grohe family, but Klau's side! The showers and taps by Hansgrohe are the best, no question.

Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted December 26, 2007 Definately Hansgrohe. With an add on from the earlier comparison, Grohe is made in Thailand and Hansgrohe is made in Germany, and Hansgrohe is cheaper!! I have both different shower systems installed my 2 toliets and definately there is a big difference...Previously they weren't made in Thailand .... at least not 7 years ago when I bought my Grohe. If I am not wrong, only the lower end models are made in Thailand.

A lot of the hotels which I've stayed in use a Grohe shower system, I might be biased but I feel Hansgrohe seems better!

A lot of the hotels which I've stayed in use a Grohe shower system, I might be biased but I feel Hansgrohe seems better!I have always thought that Hansgrohe is a much more premium brand... a few of the Hansgrohe system like Axor, even includes some Stark designs seemed to be priced sky high.. I have got one the raindance series, which is one of the more affordable models.. still it has very good quality.I have seen some Grohe shower heads in hotels around the world.. some of them feels very 'Plastic-ky'... Maybe I'm biased, but my opinion is Hansgrohe is the much better brand..
JIN 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 I also thought that Hansgrohe is more premium brand. But do some research on both of them ... and you will see that Grohe is significantly more expensive than Hansgrohe.

wuga98 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2008 you are correct, some of the parts in Grohe is plastic encased in chrome. I was at their distributor in park mall, level 1 and the sales person mentioned that to me. I have always thought that Hansgrohe is a much more premium brand... a few of the Hansgrohe system like Axor, even includes some Stark designs seemed to be priced sky high.. If stock is not available, you may need to wait something like 3-4 mths.Another thing is that if you purchase >=$5k, got 25% discount, that's the max they will give. I just got brochures for my wife to decide before commiting anything, i suspect i will exceed the $5k as i have to buy for my whole house. If you can wait, maybe we can MO. Thanks! Will definitely drop by.
wuga98 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2008 sorry, i read thru all the threads on handsgrohe and grohe and it seems you need to be careful on the water pressure or you may not get the intended effect.Do check with your plumber. Max383 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Just went to Hangrohe's main shop at Mohamed Sultan Road. Is there a difference between this main shop and the retailer at Parkmall? Is the retailer cheaper?Their products are nice... just don't know if it is worthwhile to pay so much more. I am tempted on the Talis E series but wife don't feel like spending the extra money.I got my Hansgrohe from Parkmall, B1, not sure what's the shop's name...remember to ask for discount- very negotiable
ahberden 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Just went to Hangrohe's main shop at Mohamed Sultan Road. Is there a difference between this main shop and the retailer at Parkmall? Is the retailer cheaper?Their products are nice... just don't know if it is worthwhile to pay so much more. I am tempted on the Talis E series but wife don't feel like spending the extra money.I bought my Hansgrohe items from a retailer @ Nehson Building. (You can get the actual location from www.hansgrohe.com.sg)For the 5 items i wanted, they cost about $1.2k based on the list price:Park Mall offered a 20% discount.Nehson Building offered a 25% discount. Ended up paying $900 inclusive of GST.Here's my experience:Ordered my items on 27th Dec 2007. Told me that to be on the safe side, my items will definately reach me on 2nd Jan 2008.Received a call from retailer that they can deliver my items to me on 31st Dec 2007.On 31st Dec 2007, received another call from them that they can only 3 of the items as Hansgrohe warehouse is closed on 31st Dec 2007 therefore cannot collect the remaining 2 items from Hansgrohe. Somehow there was a miscomm between them and Hansgrohe. So I received 3 of items @ 1pm on 31st Dec 2007. The retailer told me that he will arrange the outstanding items to be delivered on 2nd Jan 2008.On 2nd Jan 2008, my wife was waiting for the items till 12pm when she tried calling the retailer and they told her that there were no arrangements made for delivery on 2 Jan 2008 at all. So I called up the retailer and they told me they would get back to me asap on the status. In less than an hour, they called me back and and told me the items would reach my place before 3pm.True enough, I got the remaining of my 2 items before 3pm. Chatted with the young guy who made the delivery and realised that he is not the delivery guy. He said he made the trip down to the warehouse and delivered it just for me.I really appreciate the service provided by them even though there were screw ups on the delivery.Even though they offered a better discount, they still provided good service and were very responsive to my calls. If I even need to buy bathroom accesories again, will definately get it from them again!
