kajua 1 Report post Posted December 21, 2007 my previous owner left behind a TV console which is made of solid wood. initially wanted to throw away. but find it a waste as the material used is good, just few scratches here and there. wonder if its possible to re-skin the TV console. if not, any idea on how to re-use the materials?also, if we were to keep the TV console, any idea how renovation works can be done with the console around (we are changing tiles for the whole house)?below is a picture of the console

Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted December 21, 2007 Solid wood? I don't see how solid wood can be reskinned, when it does not have a lami or veneer over it.The best thing to do is to have it re-painted by hand using matte paint. If you want a smooth effect, you can get it spray painted but it will cost you. Ask your main con to get someone to dismantle it. I am sure there will be joints which can be undone. Wat's the finishing like? Veneer? or laminates? U can try sanding it and then paint it
