Renovations Recommendations Needed For 4-rm Resale Teck Whye

Hi all,

I have a new flat (we downgrade) because of my both sickly parents. Need suggestions on which renovation contractor to go. Here are some details

Occupants: Dad 64, mom 57, me 25, maid A, possibly getting another maid

Address: Teck Whye

Size of place: 4 room resale, 104 sqm (15 yrs old)

Budget: max 15k excluding lighting, furniture.

Work to be done

1) painting - nippon super vinilex 5000 : ceiling & pipes & cornies - white; living & dinning rooms - apple white; master bedroom - airy white; 2 bedrooms - lily white = $1200

2) box-up door-tops (both sides) wif plastic boards for 3 bedrooms & storeroom & main door = $780

3) painting of main & 3 bedrooms' doors - semi gloss; store door - bright brown = $160

4) main gate (copper) = $470

5) main door (fire proof) + lock = $960+160

6) window grilles (bronze) - living & 3 bedrooms = $ to be quoted

7) 2x toilet sit bowls (2 buttons) Saniton - ivory color + installation = $400+180

8) 2x basin (without stands) & tap + installation = $210+140

9) 2x toilet floors - 30x30 non-slip tiles + labour uplifting = $900+120

10) take out all lights before painting & install new lights, per point = $10 each

11) all light covers to change = $ to be quoted

12) add new SCV point **** room

13) repolish existing marble floor

14) hack stove support & disposal of kitchen cabinets = $380

15) kitchen floor - 30x30 non-slip tiles + labour uplifting = $950+150

16) construct sink & stove support - wax surface = $ to be quoted

17) kitchen cabinet, doors to be dark color = $ to be quoted

18) plaster cement/smooth kitchen entrance mosaic tiles & paint it = $420

19) kitchen entrance - frame (bronze), panel (tea color translucent) = $470

20) beside main entrance wall need to extend wall, cabinet = $ to be quoted

21) stove EF hob + hood (stainless steel) = $528

Total cost as of above ~8800K + some to be quoted

This is the quotation that I have gotten from Decormark.

Any valuable inputs from ppl out there is greatly appreciated! i.e. changes, prices, other renovations firms?

If you are really busy, you should at least go for 2 to 3 ID from different company.

It'll help you get more bullet to

Btw, your quote above is reasonable although some are little high,

but as long as you good workmanship and service from them then it should be ok.

Last but not least, most important is you're happy with them.

Hi Siyu,

Hellsword is right try to get some more quote from other contractors then u will knw who quote u higher.

I would recommend Ho Bee to u as they are quite responsible ppl.

Bear in mind beside price do take note of workmanship, materials and their reptutaion cos recently too many cases happening ard jus be carefull.

and also, my sister was complaining to me abt the hassle of bringing each and every contractor down to the place to take measurement. does she have to do this for every contractor? will take up so much time..

If you got the proper floor plan, it'll no need to do measurement if your house are not too unique
