Im planning to buy a home theatre system. Budget not more than $400. Prefer statellite speakers. Any good system to recommend?

I doubt you can get a good satellite HTS for $400. Unless you wont mind off-the-shelf brands like Samsung, LG or Toshiba.

A good HTS will set u back at least $1K above. It also depends wether you a movie or a music lover.

My setup cost me $3K liao.

Agree with vicenzo70... A good HTS cost around 2-3K. You can consider satellite speakers from KEF eggs series (new models) or B&W (MT20-30). AV Receiver plenty of choices from $500-1K.

There is alway something small to start with. Take ur time to upgrade slowly and u will appreciate and learn along the way.

U can consider this Samsung HTS or Pionner HTS, they fall within ur budget, but of course u have to compromise the sound quality too.

Bro, MT20 & MT30 easily set you back $3K & above liao lor. Now Im thinking of whether should I upgrade my old yammy amp to the Onkyo 805. Blardy HDMI technology always forcing us to upgrade. Haizzz..... not to mention Im converting my DVDs into Blu Rays now.....double haizzz.......

Shld be Samsung HT-XQ100 price range slightly higher than $400 but come with everything including HDMI. Go to any Courts, HN or Best listern to the sys but buy from neighbourhood shop more cheaper. !!

Btw, in case you are not aware, Amazon currently having a really good promotion now with their 1for1 offer (Amazon offer) on Blu-ray selected titles (around 115 titles..some are very good ones like 300, Casino Royale, etc..) which is great if you are just starting your movie collections.
