Cedric 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Hi,I am looking for Dect Phones. Any recommendations? toonsimPanasonic! So far the best. Second would be Philips.
fcp 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 Totally agree with Cedric. I've been using Panasonic dect phone since few years back and simply loves it till now. Have recently just gotten another unit. I've also tried other brand like Motorola, but simply cannot make it. The listening volume is always so soft regardless how u adjust it and the speaker phone function is not as crisp n clear compared to Panasonic. Thumbs up PANASONIC
Aryan 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2007 Totally agree - Panasonic is the best. Got Motorola from Singtel Hello shop, but returned it in 2 days - just couldn't hear anything! Panasonic is less stylish than a Moto Dect but does what a phone is supposed to do first - let's you communicate with somebody. Avoid Philips, etc. A bit late on commenting on this, but thought I'll register my opinion eitherway for future users.

RenoLockSG 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) A little giveback to this forum despite the age of this thread (because there is no DECT discussion in this forum surprisingly)The dect phones sold in Singapore and Malaysia are low spec'ed and pricey - when compared to Panasonic dect phones sold in the US.We went ahead to order from US the Panasonic KX-TG7643M DECT 6 LINK-TO-CELL PHONE and to share what we learnt:some say there could be interference in the frequency band of US sets with the wi-fi network at home - what we found out - we are not experts but so far it seems ok (w/o interference)some say the US power adapters rated for 110-120V won't work for Singapore- in general this is true, though some reports claim that the adaptors do work on higher voltage despite their (low voltage) rated values- what we found out - true enough it blows one of the power adapters -smoked! (there are 3 chargers so we were prepared to lose one if not all!) - this dect set runs on 5.5 volts and we used back one of the local Panasonic set chargers (6.5V); we need to go buy 2 more or just charge all three sets on the base station (which is fine!) - someone did some research on the electronic components in the power adapter and said that if the capacitor in the adapter is replaced with a higher voltage rated one, that works too (I have not tried but it could be a cheaper solution)Is it worth the hassle?Yes! The reasons are:Feature: I need headsets on these (primary reason). The US set comes with headsets jack. The local set does not.Price If you buy on Amazon when the price is cheap, you get this set for slightly higher price as a local basic set - but in this case I get headsets jacks, 3 handsets, voice answering/recording and this interesting "link to cell" (where the handsets takes over your cell phones via bluetooth, could be useful for those who use handphone extensively but need the comfort and range of dect )I noticed there is no DECT posting in this forum and I hope this helps for those who is thinking of ordering from US. Will be happy to share further if there are questions. Edited January 14, 2013 by RenoLockSG

RenoLockSG 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2013 Hi Renolock,Please advise how to order this set of 3 handsets and price? Do they come in white ?TIA.Ron.You can buy them off Amazon. Here is the link (there are other models of course). http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-KX-TG7643M-Bluetooth-Cordless-3-Handsets/dp/B004N4HDHM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358155631&sr=8-1&keywords=KX-TG7643MThe lowest price was $69.90 (USD) on Dec 05 which is when I bought mine. If you have not bought from Amazon before, you can try signing up for Vpost (and use their concierge service). However, if you want to buy when it is the lowest price on Amazon, then you can't rely on their concierge service as the low price deals are over within a short time. You will have to use your own Amazon account and ship to (your Vpost account).
dragonnite 2 Report post Posted January 14, 2013 can I chk where u bought the local base unit from? assuming tats for the individual cordless unit ? does the main unit need a step down transformer too?thx!
RenoLockSG 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) We used back (ie did not buy) the charger for another local Panasonic Dect set we have (TG2511CXC). The charger for this local set is rated 6.5V but the US Dect set (rated 5.5V) seems to run fine with it. The plug/connector fits nicely (compared to another much older Panasonic phone I still have).Best Denki suggested that we contact Panasonic service center to get chargers. I think I will go to the local HDB electronics repair shop to see if they can replace the capacitor inside instead.can I chk where u bought the local base unit from? assuming tats for the individual cordless unit ? does the main unit need a step down transformer too?thx! MrLim 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2014 Hi RenoLockSG. Was reading your post with interest as I've ordered the Panasonic KX-TG7871 from the US so was wondering if you managed to replace the capacitors inside your adaptors, and if so, how did that go?
