How much did ID/contracter quote you for this solid top?any past users from this brand?
zacky_ling 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 (edited) Miss Tension_z & Miss Zlia,Acelite charges all ID firms at a standard price of S$50 - S$60 pfr based on materials & quality of the materials selected. Therefore all ID will charge at a standard rate of S$90 pfr is very normal in the market rate. The S$30 - S$40 diff is to cover the trspt of the materials, wastage of materials, labour cost, installation cost & GST all factor in. At this rate, ID personnels doesn't gain much from the solid surface at all. Edited February 25, 2008 by zacky_ling

tension_z 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Even u noes e market very well, by writing such post, i find u r spoiling e market. how come spoil market? I think if this info is real, is quite ok..but actually we are not talking about $30-$40 difference, but $30 X say 10 feet= $300...$300 transportation + wastage+ gst+ labour....? anyway, it is known that ID will earn some from here and there,as long as it is not ridiculous high. like u know, u get charged corian price when using normal solid top.it is fine. missysg 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Hi everyone..just happen to saw this thread so come in see see look look. i dun find tension_z is spoiling the market if what he/she said is true fact. Ppls get to find useful information and true fact from forum so thats nothing wrong in letting others to know the true fact.Is ok that ID earn abit out of it but now we are not talking abt a one time charge of $30 extra or what but is $30 extra based on per ft. Although now days new flat kitchen are rather small but still it add up to a sum of $ extra wor. if the id is kind enough not to mark up that much this amt we can save for some other things ma. ID say it is all the same, just about branding.. but i have some ID quote me $60 per feet for solid top, so i wonder why so much diff...
jaCKY777 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Scenerio 1 : I do not noe e cost price from supplier, only noes e average market price of XYZ solid surface worktop.- ID A quote mi $85- ID B quote mi $90- ID C quote mi $95Wen discusin with ID C, my 1st reaction wld b -> Wah, how cum e same solid surface is so much expensive?i wil then compare e quality & workmanship against e price.Scenerio 2 : I noe e cost price frm supplier (eg. $50) & e profit margin (eg. $35) of IDs or contractors.- ID A quote mi $85- ID B quote mi $90- ID C quote mi $95Wen discusin with ID C, my 1st reaction wld b -> Wah, supplier's cost price only $50, now u wana earn almost 100% frm it. My attention is now focus on how much e ID could gain frm it & not whether e solid surface quality & workmanship is worth dat price. i wil doubt e ID's professionalism.e mindset is different. i wld prefer scenerio 1. If every item i wana noe how much e ID/contractor could gain, i wil b 'sibeiboeng'. There's nothing wrong in sharing info & pricing if 1 noes. Cant deny zacky_ling does provide valuable info, jus dat if e earlier post can replace e supplier cost price with $???, it'l b good enough for any consumer. This is wat i meant. I not replying dat thread starter is spoiling e market. My english is GCE 'O' failed 1, no wonder ppl can misinterpret. If 1 wana noe how much every item e ID or contractor can earn frm him, i olso got no rite 2 stop him.If a ID in disguise wana post e whole list of suppliers' cost price, i olso got no rite 2 stop him. I only can post my views.
tension_z 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 I think only ID will try to disguise as house owner to gain sales, seldom the other way round. why would a house owner disguise as ID? lol.Cheers.
