Have you checked out adelphi?

You could possibly think about setting up an entry level 7.1 system with that budget.

AVR brands like Marantz, Denon or Yamaha without HDMI features could cost less than $500. 7.1 speakers around $1.5-2k.

Thereafter, its a constant upgrade... cables, conditioner... :(

Btw, that doesn't include DVD player. HDMI players going from $200 onwards depending on brand.

Yo Bro may I check with u ur HTS is used more for MOIVE or MUSIC cos this will determine which AMP is suitable for u.

My personal opinion don ever go for BOSE cos they are too EXP and TOTALLY don worth it.:wub:

KEC used to have very good salesman, nothing much to worry on selection.

(now i dunno, it's been donkey years)

....maybe you havent come across those super haolian pple whose main intention is to let their visitors know that their B&O costs 5 figures. same thing for bose, more for haolian-ing purpose than real appreciation of music/ht. (not refering to anybody here hor)

For Movie I would recomend Yamaha AV receiver cos it is affordable and produce good moive sound effect.

If u are willingly to break ur bank abit, think this KEF spk more s.e.x.y and perform so much better than BOSE and it come with cables too. (Gurantee approve by Wife of their s.e.x.y look) :bangwall:

I knw is way out of ur budget so I recomend u to get Pionner DVD player DV600-AVS. Concentrate ur bullet on the Amp and Spk first and upgrade ur player in the near future.

We can go together tis Sat if u want to cos they jus indent a new series of spk "Castle" for HTS.

At KEC beside B&W, they also have Wharfedale which is good too.

Chrispy maybe u can also check up tis spk although their look is suck but performance still cool.

If ur wife really like BOSE small spk then I would recommend "Mission - M-Cube" the price is half of BOSS and performance is so much better than BOSS.
