actually as a buyer, u have nothing much to gain, maybe a slightly lower selling price? but its probably not worth it imo. it is the seller that gains most, because they probably desperately need the cash. usually when sellers have these type of request, it raises a big RED flag, and one should be very careful. they must be owe hdb alot of arrears or worst owe ah long! yikes!

This is Illegal...

I have previously encounted a similar case while the owner wanted undertable money.... rejected and continued finding other houses...

heard from my friend that can be very serious... less than 6 months jail and 5K fine...
