Lost With Ideas......please Help

Recommended Posts

Hey Peeps,

i've just got my flat but will be collecting my keys really soon. I've got my floor plan.

Now am sourcing for the next step to take with regards to the design and renovation of my flat. Kinda lost at what is the next step. :P

I have a relative that does woodwork e.g. kitchen cabinents so i can left the cabinents to him.

However what about the design of the house and cabinents?

I will only be doing the kitchen, hall and MBR @ this point of time.

What other things or pple do i need to talk to? I tot of getting a ID but they are kinda expensive ya? On tight budget heehee :)

So can any kind souls point me in the right direction please?

do you really need an ID?

if you are not going to have a theme

and just need basic things to be done

a contractor is good enough

as it is, most IDs in singapore just copy from interior magazines :)

what do you want to do for your hall and MBR?

maybe you'd like to contact the few contractors recommended here in the forum :P

So better to look thru magazines and get my relative to do ya?

As for the manual labour e.g. install water heater, contact the contractors here ya?

actually if you are not doing tiling, just get the shop to do the installation

i.e. water heater to be installed by the place you bought it

most shops provide such service at a cost

Thanks all for your kind help.............helps me get my bearings straight.

i see......i spoke to my dad also and he also knows a friend who can do the concrete works and drilling and piping and other manual labour

So since i am covered for capentry and masonary/labour.......all i am left is the design ya? Or anything else i miss out?

Btw, if i wanna go a feature wall, still need Int Designer to do ma?

an ID offers the service of coordinating the renovation and providing some form of design for your home

if you know what you want, there's no point going to an ID

unless you want a conversation piece, then be prepared to spend a bomb on the design :thumbs up:

feature wall is done by carpenter

usually is just a piece / several pieces of wood joined together and laminated

another idea for feature wall

a smoothly-plastered wall with decals or mural

beats conventional laminate style hands down for me :notti:
