Removal Of Window Grilles

hi guys..i have check thru HDB website regarding window grilles...no info on removal of window grilles

just wnat to know if window grilles is compulsory..if not i'll remove the grilles from the kitchen and utility room...

mine is a 3NG upgraded with a utility room....

thats bcos the grilles are INSIDE your house - unlike windows which can fall off 10 storeys down and kill the straycats. :yamseng:

no rules lah.

think the only rules are for those full-ht windows which hdb made grilles for the lower part

those cannot be removed i.e. hdb will ask you to put back when you going to sell your flat

other than that, grilles are not mandatory :yamseng:

cool thanks....i thought so....since we don't need permit to put up grilles...i guess we don't need permit to remove..

i don't see a need to have grilles for window at kitchen and utility room....i doubt anyone would wnat to break in thru there...

ah.....what about when your flat needs exterior re-painting? With those simi condola that can stop at every floor... close all windows?

i usually close all window..once fully aircon with mecahnical ventilation i'll closed all window for sure.....

i'm thinking of changing all window galss to laminated safety glass...so i can do away with grilles totally..
