Need Help On Theme And Flooring

Recommended Posts

Hi...

my wife and I are getting a 5rm flat from HDB and hope to get some advice

Previous owner of the house had renovated the house and placed marble flooring

However, the color of the marble is pinkish. My wife is contemplating of removing all the marbles and replace with white color tiles as she like to have a modern theme.

currently, our budget is a bit tight and may only have 20k for renovating the entire house.

Can we still have modern theme with the existing marble flooring? :) any suggestions? :notti:

thanks

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

get a few quotes from diff contractors & then decide if u really wanna hack & replace the marble flooring

another alternative is to install laminated flooring.....u can hv choices of light-coloured ones but not totally white .....

Hi Toonus88,

I think ur mables floor look beautiful. Although is pinkish but it will be really a waste to replace it I would suggest either u can use Applefreak method commoflash the flooring with rug & furnitures or change ur hse theme to Western Style or Country Style which is not so popular in Spore. :D

Most ppls step into ur hse first thing look at ur furnitures or carpentry they seldom look at ur flooring so hope this don bother ur design too much. :)

a modern theme need not exclude marble flooring (especially when one is already in place). i would also like to suggest that having white colour tiles (as a modern theme) because they appeared to be de rigueur in some magazines are basically a lazy man (or lazy id) way of interpreting the 'modern' theme.
