Efficient Furniture Shopping Process

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just decided I hate my sofa and it has to go.

So I started looking at sofas in furniture shops. The thing is, its been 2 weeks and I dont feel I am making progress. At this rate I will take months to get the right one.

Any tips on how to short-cut the process? Are there places I can see sofas online?

Depending on your budget and if you're looking specifically for any design / concept?

Have you checked out the Furniture mall at beach road?

www.designstudio.com.sg

www.evovliving.com

I also cut out newspaper adverts, group them together according to location and visit them on a weekend. i took abt 2 months for sofa search.

i recommend you having an idea of what you want first

1. material

2. design

3. how many seater

4. budget

5. size

when you have all these decided, it'll be easier for us to share places to get it :)

THe tough part is knowing how much to spend. I think anything above $3k is extravagant, but then I again I dont want to spend for the sake of it. I find it hard to judge quality. I have seen sofas for under $1k which dont look like they will last a year!

I definitely want fabric NOT leather

Something simple in design - not too fashionable or old fashioned

3 -seater (I measured my space - not more than 2.4m) - no L shape or curvey designs

thanks for your help!
