rumi 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2008 Hi, Any feedback on the usage of the extended kitchen table top? I see that from the pictures you loaded, there will be a slight protrusion of the extension even when fully closed. Is that right? Also how far is your extension of the table top. Max is about 60cm ? Max is about 60cm ? hi, Regarding the extended kitchen top, i find it v useful cos my hse has a small kitchen. When we cook alot of food, the extended table top serves a v good purpose yup you are right, there will be slight protrusion of the extension. hmmm i am not sure how far is the extension. But if i want it to be v far, my protrusion will be more oh ya there is one setback: - Whenever i need to open the bottom cabinet at that extension, i need to pull out the extension first then i can open the cabinet. So i store some things that is not so frequent use at that area

rumi 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 My kitchen is also very small! Actually my ID very against the idea.. say is not feasible, table top extension not stable. etc etc...I was so angry agueing with him, & I am going to show him the pictures that why others can do it! BTW. is it very heavy to pull out the extension since there is no castors? Will dragging out the extension cause scratches on your floor tile? Will there be a lot of noise when u pull out like dragging out chairs..
Yang Guo 7 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 hi rumi.. the bottom of the extension didnt touch the floor, so there is no sound at all and wouldnt scratch the tiles also. Mine is a "L" pull out. The long side has no purpose, it looks like its dragging the tiles but actually its not... For design only. i have seen a forumer's extension is just a single pull out (without the L), that can also be done too.
rumi 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 U mean the vertical wood that extends to the floor does not touch the floor at all? Then u mean is for show and not doing some form of more support? Then why did u choose to have that portion? U got any other close up picture of that part or not? Could u link me the other forumer with single pull out? Thanks! Yang Guo 7 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 Hi Rumi, yup that vertical wood is for show only, but it add weight and stability to the pull out. i know there are 2 ways to be done..the other way is below http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...12506&st=40 see post #80 PS: Alex sorry ya i borrow your blog

This is the maximum the extension can be pulled out. - If i want the extension to be longer, it will protrude more. - If i didnt do the vertical wood, my extension will be shorter Fully closed.. didnt touch the floor, for show only
