MummyLee 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 hey phx.. hope you dun mind the shortform.. its ok i finally got it right.. some new learnt!!Yeah i kept the flooring!!! thanks for the compliments but i agree with my contractor that with the laminate we will achieve the condo effect but i really prefer tha marble.. can save some money there!! hehe..Actually i am trying to achieve a fusion look.. modern classy with a wee bit of nostalgia.. hope that we are able to achieve it man.. we are keeping our fingers crossed... !!Btw our pt blk is at telok blangah rise, next to mt faber? and yes pt blks are a bit bigger than the flats offered now..but one question how come they dun come wih store rooms??Really envy pple with no kids their hse can be made so nicely.. mine will have to be baby and kid proofed.. and with no storage room!! can you imagine thier clutter!?!? !! MummyLee 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 here are some pictures of the view of our place..this is one of the main reason why we like this place so much besides the point that we have got to stay near my in laws..apple freak thanks for the compliments and the warm welcome.. so nice of u all to say hi!!anyways dun faint when you all see my bedroom floor tiles they are 'terrazo' , the pebble like type!! Anyways my contractor said they we are actually doing a facelift but not full reno, very straight forward which was why we like him plus the fact that he did my brothers plce too!!Is your blog here, if yes can you pass me the link so i can feast my eyes? phoenix you too!! is your blog here? !! MummyLee 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 (edited) So basically we are doing- full reno for the kitchen and 2 toilets- building a relaxation area with the living room two, due to the full length windows- building up a storage area in our study- partially glassing up the study - full house painting, plastering , plumbing and rewiring- L box for living room one- false ceiling for dining area hehe and there are some things he threw in for us like our dresser adn other stuff, can you guess why we like him so much?? !!Heres our entrance.. not doing much due to budget constraint.. keeping the grilled door as he proposed since we wanna save some cash... we are just gonna paint this area and decorate it..[here are some of pics of the work they have done:hack hack hackbye bye kitchenbye bye bedroom for our study..another view frm living room one Edited November 3, 2007 by MummyLee

Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted November 3, 2007 hi there chunky monkey.. i will be uploading more while i can.. btw do you know why do they exactly build point blocks for? do they still have point blks these days?MummyLee, I don't know of HDB's architecture history well. But I did have the impression of these point blocks being the premium HDB flats competing with the then HUDC. No more new point blocks these days .... it seems like HDB is moving towards those mega tall flats like those in Bukit Merah area ...

MummyLee 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 hey applefreak, will check out your place!! i dunno why theres a full length window too since the place is already very old, and yes no grills. but after the reno there will be grills, no choice got 2 kiddos.I think that is the PSA site but not the IR btw ah what is singapore national bird?thanks for the encouragement! i hope all will go well, cos i just had some problems with the dulux paint!! the colours are different from the catalogue! luckily i was at my place to check it if not i tell you i will be dead man!!
