Cindy-Monkeybone 1 Report post Posted November 5, 2007 Seriously when those people charge $30 for a light point its already a rip off! Usually they only need to do tapping for false ceiling/L-box lighting. Which is a very simple job. But nevertheless, its around the market rate. But if you can find cheaper electrician, of cos its better.I see ! I see ! Luckily, my PLC is at mkt rate !
vicenzo70 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) Then $45 would be a steal. Hardly likely IMO.Hi allThks for the replies.Ive check with the electrician personally . Its for ELECTRICAL WIRING WORKS only. EXCLUDING down lights which I have to purchase myself. So is it still a steal? All along, I thought that re-wiring comes as a package cost NOT per down lights. Correct me if I wrong. Thks againVince Edited November 7, 2007 by vicenzo70

redbottle 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) Hi vicenzo70,that's fr*****king expensive man. The cost of downlight varies from 20 to 30++ depending where you buy hte labour for installation should be only 8 per downlight. if you are putting some chandiliers then it make sense but not for downlight 45 thats way out of league bro. Indeei bought one dozen of E27 20W round-shaped downlight at $16 each... i think the PLC + magnetic ballast type is more expensive, minimum $20...i prefer the E27 type cos no flicker, no humming sound from the ballast, instant startup, easy to change... but the bad points are that E27 bulb's lifespan is shorter, about 1 year, compared with the PLC type which can last abt 2years... E27 bulb is also abt $1 more expensive than PLC bulb...btw, i saw at HomeFix that Philips is selling LED E27 bulbs... something like this... may get one or two to try the effect Edited November 7, 2007 by redbottle
Yang Guo 7 Report post Posted November 29, 2007 I see ! I see ! Luckily, my PLC is at mkt rate !so can i say that the mkt rate for installation of 1 PLC light is abt $30 right? (include wiring in the L box. excluding the cost of the PLC light itself)
MaCe 3 Report post Posted November 29, 2007 so can i say that the mkt rate for installation of 1 PLC light is abt $30 right? (include wiring in the L box. excluding the cost of the PLC light itself)to properly define it -installation of lamp = $8 (installation = labor)wiring for a lighting point = $30 (installation = wires only)
