andrew77 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 His workers made a hole on one of the tile and the tile that he chipped is extinct already =/He said that he will patch back but a defect would be there. What reasonable compensation should I demand? Thanks.
Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 I don't think the act was malicious. It was unfortunate. I kind of think his would just use putty to fill the hole and use matching paint to paint over it.Good karma. Don't demand for compensation.

andrew77 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Don't get me wrong, not trying to be nasty or find fault but I think most of us have this in our quotation.Supply & lay currogated paper roll "to protect flooring."The workers failed in this area I suppose. Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Of course if you argue on technicality, your contractor would have to compensate you. But here, we are trying to appeal to your good nature to let it go. What are we talking about here >> $60?
andrew77 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 It's not about the $60 too. It's like a defect on the floor that could not be perfected , the tile = irreplaceable due to obsolescenceIf the tile could be replaced it's already solved. Just replace it =/

I dont even have such a item in my quotation...but during reno they did cover everything with corrugated paper.sometimes you got to think of lets say 3 mths after you have moved in - you found some defects - you call your contractor - whether he will come back and rectify or not really depends on how he thinks of you. or will he just push/tai chi all way - busy lah no time...keep calling me in 3 yrs' time maybe i am free? Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 ^^ That's true. There is a bigger scheme of things. When you burn your bridges with your contractor, he is not going to respond to your post renovation calls to rectify things. Or he would charge you ridiculous prices to get back at you. Honestly, live and let live. It couldn't possibly be a deliberate act.
Natasha 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 I think if you paid for them to supply corrugated paper and they fail to do so, which in the end resulted in floor tiles damage, you should be able to ask for compensation.

Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 Do you know the contractor? Or are you a friend or relative of the contractor? No, I do not know the contractor. And neither am I a friend or relative of the contractor. Just because I am vocal about my point of view or choice of action recommended towards this matter, does not mean that there is any relation. Good grief.
