Learnt some important things which I like to share with people who are going into renovating their homes...

1. Remember to communicate with/to your ID on the lighting/electrical works and also the switches including layout and whether 1way/2 way.. This is usually the first part of the reno that they start on, and by the time false ceiling is up, many things cannot be done already.

2. Ensure your ID is aware of the exact dimensions of your hood, especially if it's a chimmey one, the depth of the chimmey. This might affect your cabinets...

3. Might not be good idea to buy furniture before your reno finish. If you do, always be reminded to check if your carpentry will have any impact on it, position of lighting also.

4. Youneed to know the dimension of Fridge, Washer you intend to get. Other appliances such as TV, especially if you are going to have it mounted, should be considered too. (This point actually contradicts point 3. )

Will write when I recall more

Hi jule,

Very nice renovation progressing.

Excellent important things (esp point#1) above to share with people doing renovation for first time.

:dunno:

Point 5. But also related to Point 3 and 4.

5. If you are thinking of gettin AV system, do decide before they do wiring and false ceiling too. The audio cables can be arranged to be lay together with the electrical works. Also, your layout of furniture should take into consideration where your speakers or unit is to be placed for best effect.
