Lakmy 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Hi!I have got quotes from a couple of window grill suppliers. The best is from CNS in Ang Mo Kio at 8 pft for wrought Iron.Is wrought iron really more stronger than Aluminium?Or will aluminiun grills work just fine?Has anybody installed fixed grills outside the window?Any regrets? This is only possible in certain flats. Am considering it as I have seen one neighbour who has done this andused the resulting space to keep potted plants .. Looks good.I was charged 500+ for window panes for my service balcony. The reason being its very big... he said.Is that too expensive... I must confirm the dimensions..but is roughly 48 ft when i multiply l x b.Looking forward to valuable inputs and cost-effective alternatives from forerunners in the forum:)

Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 I am using MetalWorld. They have a website by the way, and they are a pleasure to work with. I ordered my wrought iron grilles during their sale a couple of months ago. I like it when suppliers are fast in their responses and will communicate with me via sms and emails. This is the efficiency that I appreciate. MetalWorld sent me drawings via emails for my approval, so it was really great seeing it on paper first instead of doing guesswork. The guys I am working with are George and Chua. And I was told there are various grades of wrought iron and galvanising. In areas where you expect harsh weather (i.e. hot sun and rain), the grilles need to be hot-dipped, and this will be more expensive.
