I found two pcs of styrofoam-like looking thing inside the cooling unit (lower door) of the fridge. Is this normal? Mine is the Hitachi ZM540AM fridge.

Yes, normal. If you open up the fridge casing, you can find that styrofoam is used to wrap around the fridge as insulation. Cheers.

Anyway cant be removed, cos its inside the casing which cant be opened unless I un-screw it.
