Lights And Ceiling Fan

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with lights and ceiling fan and hope someone can help me out.

I would like to have a ceiling fan installed in my study. However, in order to bring reno cost down, have decided not to do L-box. How am I then able to install a light so that there will not be any shadows at night when I turn on both light and fan?

I know there are some ceiling fans with lights but I find that them not bright enough for the study and also I do not like the look of such fans !! .

How :) ?

Thanks!

there are two types of ceiling fan with lights

one looks like this

and the other looks like this

both are quite bright IMHO

but if you still dun like, can consider getting ceiling fan and reading lights or table lamp :furious:

HI!

I too am in the same situation.

So what i propose to do is put wall mounted lamp/lamps.

You can put upto 20 W bulb in some.

so if you put two that will be bright enuff.

In the study I propose to put one 30 W wall mounted lamp

and use study lamps when needed.

The other option the uncle at Lights Arcade suggested

is to put those slim tubes type of wall mounted light.

They come in nice designs too these days.

In fact he has one with two tubes.. its roughly 2 feet by 1 feet

rectangle and there are 4 tiny lamps on 4 sides.

U can choose to either put on those 4 dim lights as night/mood light

and put the two tubes when u need more light.

I am waiting for my keys. Will only be able to put pics after Dec

when my design is implemented :notti:

lookin4wards

hi all,

we faced the same problem during our renovation.

finally settled with the 2nd type mentioned by applefreak.

we observed the shadow-light effect is much lesser and there is more head-room.

another alternative is to use floor fan, which we did for the smaller bedrooms.

check our our blog if you want to read up more
