kiraaa23 0 Report post Posted July 6 Hey everyone! I’m planning a road trip from NY to LA in my 1995 Civic EG6, and I’m a bit nervous about it making the journey. Any tips for prepping it for the long haul? My friend once broke down in the desert, and I really want to avoid that. Any advice on routes or must-have spare parts would be super helpful! Thanks! AnnaLibert 0 Report post Posted July 6 Hey! A coast-to-coast trip in a '95 Civic EG6 sounds like an adventure! To keep it smooth and steer clear of breakdowns, definitely check and possibly replace your timing belt, water pump, and thermostat if it’s been a while. Carry essentials like spare hoses, fuses, and belts too. As for the route, sticking to major highways like I-40 can be safer and more scenic with plenty of stops for breaks. Also, if you’re at all worried about a stretch of your trip, consider having a backup plan for car transport. A friend used SafeCarHauling when his vintage ride needed a lift through a less-traveled area. They were great and took excellent care of his car, giving him peace of mind. Safe travels, and enjoy the drive
