Hi,

anyone bought aircon from everjoint b4? is the price reasonable and what abt the installation? Pls advise

ever ask for a quote from them. standard price, not really cheap. suggest you go and ask from Mega Discount Store and Federal.

I hv posted something on air-con quotes in the air-con thread. you can check it out and give the various shops a call for your quotations.

actually, for non-mechanical / non-engrg / non-constrn trained people or not in these line people, its kinda hard to explain hw to monitor the installers, check their work and the procedures they take and their experience. if you are in this line, you will know how 'deep' (aka experience) the installers are by shooting some uncommon questions and see how they reply.

but no matter hw gd the installers are, they are not perfect. even big reputable company can also make mistakes.

dun be surprise that condo owners hv more complains den HDB owners even though their air-con are subcontracted by larger company.

and no, for housing air-con, its not really that profitable. only profitable if you hv the following setup.

1 boss

1 clerk cum accounts

3 site foreman (your own regular experience men)

12 workers (indians will require lower salary)

and mind you, if you hv larger company and only doing hm split units sales and installation, you really hv to hv alot of projects.

the real profit comes from doing central system type of air-con where ducting is involved and thats what we call as ACMV - Air-conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation.

oh, forgot to add, why the company has to be small...

its becoz air-con is simply mechanical stuffs, nothing too high tech, and its juz a skill installation job, so its consider easy to do. and that's why there are tons of small air-con companies fighting for jobs.

and for servicing, where people juz come and do 'water-cleaning' your filter instead of chemical cleaning, i know some small company are charging at $6 to $9 per fancoil!:yamseng::blink::lol::lol:

these small company do not hv a shop space, they juz buy 2 or 3 vans, put all necessary equipments inside and employ 3 indian workers and together with the boss, start to do biz already.

basically this is the same as installing of air-con. wat company A can do, company B also can do. so competition is there and so beside comparing on fair ground on the brand, type of equipments and materials they are able to supply, you will know whether they are expensive or not coz the rest are labour cost.
