Which Co Have The Best Design?

Recommended Posts

Those who get designer must give them the "space" for designing... if U input your idea... that's your design... not his...

I didn't let the designer have a chance to express his creativity... because I have already stated that I want something that's simple and practical.. what I can say is the designer only follow my instruction and that's explain why the drawings need to change so many times...

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request
after two months of searching for the "ideal" or "best" ID, ironically I found that the best designer is non other myself! !! not saying that now my house is top noch design but it has all attributes I wanted to have, and i believe that I do not need a stranger to plan how I should use the space.

i feel IDs are for those with big budget and really have no time to do it. flip thru Home & Decor, there are many self-designed houses.

maybe u want to just try it yrself?

just my 2cents.

This I agree too! haha....reading interior decor mags issue after issue somehow makes me a mini ID too even though I engaged an ID. :)

What the contractor or ID can do for you is to create an empty shell, it's up to you to fill in the flesh to make your house look more wholesome! Ultimately, it's the soft furnishings that completes the entire look, can't just rely on carpentry works alone.

I don't encourage too much built-ins though. Like what HSH21 said, when you decide to shift house later on, you can't bring the built-ins with you. Only do built-ins unless absolutely necessary like hiding odd corners or creating extra storage or minimising space that can't be achieved with off-the-shelf furniture.

Ya... I regreted for spending too much $$$ on my 3rd house built in... the whole house are all built in... even all the beds for 3 bedrooms ... when I shifted house... the things that need to move are the sofa and dinner set...

Yup, agree...if you decide to sell your house later on, you might have to dismantle all the built-ins for your buyer before you move out...it's extra work and cost for you....like I said, only absolute necessary...:)

I heard my friend's sis said the buyer wanted them to dismantle the walk in wardrobe...and doesn't buyer have the right to buy the flat in its original condition? Actually I'm not very sure also....but that's what my friend's sis did before she handed over the house to the buyer lor...

Hi all , can we decide on what company design based on their web site pic?

My case is i have 2 in mind... One cheaper but website and photo posted dun really felt cosy.. while the one is more expensive but photo seen by this ID is cosy (i.e. to my liking)

Both I am comfortable with ....

For us we try to put all the items inside our customised storage areas. Out of sight :notti: and less maintenance. Hopefully just mob the floor and wipe the table top dust only :)

May i ask what is your budget for the ID? You know those nice design in the websites are usually very expensive.

Best is to get a feel for the interested design company by visiting them and based your decision on that taking consideration all the input here so far.

I have seen many nicer design company other than the listed here.

Dear Silver88,

U shld nt base on the website or the photos to decide on the ID, first is the budget that had mention by Lifestyle hw can a $60k budget compare to a $20k budget.

Second are the photos as u knw those professional photographer are veri capable to post nice nice pics for the customers to see (Tis Lifestyle shld be better position to tell u) 8|

Finally the ID incharge on these projects might nt even be ard or u are serve by some salesman instead. (As mention by Air too) 8|

My advise instead of looking at the website :bangwall: why dont u go down to the company and give them ur floorplan and see which ID give u the best layout that suit ur liking, then follow up by the budget and so on....... :bangwall:
