For me will be around $200 ba cos to me dining table chairs are not really impt, I can spend

more on other areas.

Price is related to quality, ie if it's cheap plastic dining chairs then $50 is too much. If it's high back leather covered dining chairs, $500 might be very reasonable. It goes in the context of your whole house, ie if your house is Ikea furniture at Ikea prices, then your dining chairs would conceivably not excced $150 each. If your house is Da Vinci stuff at Da Vinci prices, however...

sorry, type too fast without checking again.

it's Ji Chi > chicken wing > 鸡翅木

in chinese furniture, heavy doesnt always mean expensive. hei/hong tan mu are the heaviest, so heavy that a single seater need 2 strong men to carry yet couldnt catch their breath. The weight of rosewood is nothing compare to hei/hong tan mu (红檀木) Go to Oriental handicraft in henderson ind park to see the POWER of hongtan mu :D

Ji Chi wood is rare(low supply, much more rarer than zi tan 紫檀木) thats why it's expensive.
