babyQ 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2007 Can anyone kindly advise me what does WET Work mean? Can Painting and Plastering also be considered as part of WET Work?hi Grace,i think different contractors will use different heading/sub-section for their quotations. it also depends on the scope of your reno, eg. whether your flooring is tiles thruout, etc. "masonry works" is interchangeable with wet works. both mean the same thing.the scope of wet works for my quotation include those works involving the two bathrooms only:supply building material (cement, chemical cement, white cement, W1 bonding and sand)supply floor and wall tiles (usually will specify price range or you can choose to buy your own)supply labour to lay floor and wall tiles supply 104 quickseal waterproofing membrane before laying floor tileslabour and materials to construct shower kerb or bath tub supportif any hacking or change position of toilet doors, then cost of erecting new wall and patching up old entrance with hollow blockif you are using tiles for your whole house + kitchen, then wet works will include:lay floor tiles ****/dining/storeroom bedrooms c/w skirtinglay floor and wall tiles at kitchen c/w waterproofing treatmentlevel up kitchen with EPF (if doing)construct kitchen cabinet basereplace rubbish chuteerecting any walls eg in storeroomfor my quotation, plastering and painting works is under separate heading. i got a quotation which is very clear using these headings:1. Demolition Works2. Masonry Works = wet works3. Plastering Works4. Plumbing Works5. Door Works6. Aluminium Works7. Electrical Works8. Ceiling Works9. Carpentry Works10. Painting Workshope this helps! good luck on your reno!
