Hi all! We are nearing the end of our house renovation and we have finally decided to share our experience so far Our new house is a 5-room BTO in Waterway Brooks, and here's our floor plan for a start: Both of us prefer a simple and clean house, along the line of minimalistic and nordic feel kinda. We surfed extensively on (it's really quite a useful app!), renotalk (of cuz ;p) and various interior design company websites initially to gather our ideas on how we want our house to be. Being super fickle-minded, it took us quite awhile to come to a decision on the interior design we are both comfortable with. Here's our mood board: Living Room Kitchen Random ideas That's all for now!

By 2031, Punggol residents will get 4 more train stations to directly connect them to the eastern part of Singapore, to places like Tampines and Pasir Ris. The line is an extension of the Cross Island Line, and will act as a shuttle service to supplement the buses that currently ply the route. With the new extension, commuters can expect to save up to 25 minutes when they travel, from Punggol Central to Pasir Ris Central, the Land Transport Authority said. Construction of the underground Punggol, Riviera, Elias and Pasir Ris stations will begin in 2022 and the stations are expected to be opened by 2031. Three of the four stations - Punggol, Riviera and Pasir Ris - will be interchange stations. Travel time between Pasir Ris and Punggol will be halved with the construction of an MRT line extension linking the two towns by 2031.

We applied for our BTO flat in Sep 2011, during that time, we were able to choose between Punggol Waterway Brooks and Waterway Woodcress. After some discussion with Missy, we have come to a conclusion, a 5-room Waterway Brooks flat will be our new house after our marriage. (One of the reason is because Waterway Brooks is closer to a LRT station in terms of walking distance and Sheng Siong is within walking distance)

After quietly reading so many blog posts here, and benefited a lot from them, we decided that it's now the time to contribute back. We got our 5-room BTO flat in Waterway Terraces 1 in year 2010. It was among the "hottest" BTOs at that time, since it was the first launch of “waterfront living” in HDB flats. 5-room flats were actually 20 times oversubscribed. So we consider ourselves very lucky to get it In Feb 2015, HDB started to hand over the keys. Our renovation is actually going to complete soon, with only a few items left, meaning this is not a 'live' blog. We are also busy with a lot of things at the moment, so will keep this blog short and simple. Nevertheless, we will try to include all the information that others may find useful. Below are the topics that we will cover: Planning - Floor plan and design ideaDesign - ID selectionDesign - Requirements and 3D sketchesDesign - 3D renderingPurchase - LightsPurchase - Kitchen and toilet accessoriesPurchase - FurniturePurchase - AppliancesPurchase - Networking stuffsKeys CollectionReno - Paint and laminate selectionReno - Door-arm replacementReno - Electricity runningReno - Aircon installationReno - False ceilingReno - CarpentryReno - Data points conversionReno - Moving inReno - CurtainsReno - Storage ShelvingReno - Completion photosLooking Back...

Hello Everyone! After years of lurking around here, learning so much from all the seniors here, I am finally starting my own T-blog! Why Smelly Nest? Its just our pet name for each other Lets start with the conventional boring floor plan. ">http://http://s307.photobucket.com/user/melakamalacca/media/Punggol/floor%20plan.jpg.html'> Our unit is a tiny 87 meter sq ( 90 meter sq including air con ledge). So our main challenge is creating enough storage for all our rubbish. The next post will be summarizing our visits to the IDs.

Started this quite late but got inspired by a neighbour so here goesss.......... November 2011, my then fiance, now hubby, was waiting anxiously for HDB to release new flats and due to his foresight, Punggol and Hougang would be a good estate. It is still 'empty' now and not as crowded as mature estate, its accessible and in the near future, it would be a booming estate where property value would go up. Especially for Punggol So when the new releases came out, HDB released both Punggol and Hougang but after seeing the location of Punggol's BTO and seeing the waterway, WE'RE SOLD! It is so near the mrt, it has the waterway as a view and its so near the new big shopping mall thy're building (Watetown) which is the same size or bigger than Vivo City. So of course, duh punggol waterway! With the new road opening up to Seletar, his drive to work from home would be 10 minutes or less, what a good life for him! So on January 16 - We collected our keys! Above: We were so happy that we chose a corner house! All that big space! We're already coming up with crazy ideas on how to make outside look awesome! Above: The living room. Sorry quite small! Above: Our Walkway Our kitchen and very tiny masterbedroom

It had been a super-long awaited project and finally the journey to be proud home owners is closing in... It started out in 2011 when I came across an iconic bto project launched by HDB called Waterway Terraces 1 in Punggol and was amazed by the concept of this project. Wifey (back then still gf), was also astonished by it but sad to find out that it was launched a few months back but guess what. . . . the following month, HDB launched a replica project called Waterway Terrace 2!! We didn't hesitate to apply for it when HDB launched it's sale and we got a unit there! In short, we've been waiting avidly for the completion of this "never-ending" project and finally HDB updated their website for the PCD to be end of June. Well, creating this blog to reminisce the journey of our soon to be home...

Hi guys!! I've been stalking renotalk for over 4 years omg! Decided to start a t-blog to share my experiences so far My husband and I balloted for our Punggolian home like 4 years ago! And we've finally gotten our key collection date! We'll be collecting our keys on 15th June after a freaking long wait! Am glad to see some fellow Punggolians threads here too! Hello future neighbours! *waves* Actually last week, I wrote a post on my blog about things to prepare when searching for an Interior Designer! Basically the main gist was, we learnt the hard way about going in blind. It is best to have kinda of an idea of what you want. And after a couple of meetings, we finally decided on what we wanted. Woohoo! This is our floorplan! #nadskaihome is a 4 room Premium BTO. Unfortunately for us, our kitchen is tiny! Even if we decide to hack that tiny little wall there, it isn't going to help much! Honestly, when we compare our floorplan to others, I find that we have very little unusable space. Oh well, we'll just have to make the best of what we have! For some reason, our project is extremely green! It's like our contractor Sun Huan is OBSESSED with green. The outside is green. The lifts are green. There are many ugly mosaics in the house. many ugly green bits to be covered. Will be taking pics when we collect our keys and will share pics of the royal greenness. More updates coming soon!

Am planning to redo some parts of my kitchen. Would appreciate if contractors can quote me for the following if you are reading this. - 32 feet L shaped kitchen cabinet ( about 16 feet on top and 16ft at the bottom) - Tear down existing kitchen cabinet - about 14 feet granite top - 3 feet wide, full height shoe cabinet - 6 feet TV console with feature wall - 5 feet x 8 feet high wardrobe - 4 feet study table - vinyl flooring for about 700 sq feet flooring - Frosted tempered glass for kitchen entrance - 6 feet x 2 feet cabinets for recess beside window -1 x king size bed with storage at the bottom. ( high platform type) I more or less know what kind of design I need. One I find someone with a reasonable price, I can then plan out the exact design and finalise the pricing

After 2 years+ of waiting, fiancé and I finally received our keys to our 4 room BTO flat on 7th June 2013 We weren't in a hurry to move in so we decided to take our time with the renovations; also because our wedding is in 1 December 2013 and we're afraid that finances might be a bit tight. But last week, we met with one interior designer (Spacious Planners @ IMM) and one contractor (the much recommended Mr K from renotalk), and fiancé and I started getting excited with the renovations and all. In the end, we might just start our renovations earlier and hopefully, have the house ready by November 2013 *rubs hands with glee* Here's the floor-plan of my little home which I call TCC - The Chews Corner
