If you have both of the interlocking slots of your gates locked, it's almost impossible to remove the gates even tough the hinges are being whacked. For my case, my ID advise me not to drill holes on the flooring for the bottom interlocking slots to prevent the tiles from cracking (as it's near the edges of the tiles), so I do not have any defence left. Frankly speaking, if the thief wants to break into a house, there are so many different ways. And since now most of us are still undergoing reno, he can create all the noise he wants and no one actually cares. The question is, does he want to go through all that trouble and end up breaking into an empty house? Actually, it's just like people paying a few hundreds dollars to install a CCTV or a good lock or even buying insurance. All of us is doing preventive measures only. I know it's very expensive, but I don't think I have any other lobangs for it. Moreover, cost to cost, it's all about the same cost be it whichever preventive measure you will choose.

My Granite Top, Black Glass Back Splash & Kitchen Cabinets 1 My Granite Top, Black Glass Back Splash & Kitchen Cabinets 2 (with cooker hood & hob) My Granite Kitchen Sink with Granite Top, spray mixer & lots of rubbish......(@ service yard) I just weld my gate joints today...very expensive.....$20 per joint X 9 joints = $180!!!! But well, it's still a small price to pay instead of being robbed right? But I'm **** surprised when that welder (Mr Kor) actually removed all the 9 joints in less than 5 minutes & just by knocking the bottom of the original joint!!!

I just came back from my Linear Green. Saw someone throw some aircon trunking on the void deck of the front rows of flats. Not sure how long and how thick, but should be more than 1 meter. Else, you can also call up your aircon guy to give soem extra for you. I call Gain City to do some re-route (water drainage) for me 1 month after the initial setup, and it's FOC too. Anyway, just a curious question, why do you need this extra trunking for? I know someone pple uses it to fix on the "fake" monitor camera outside their house.

Blk 16 got roti prata, wanton mee, char kway teow, hokkien prawn mee, & fishball mee from the cooked food area. From the wet market area, there is this Bedok Roast that is very nice too. Seldom go to Blk 58 market nowadays, but the mee rebus there is very nice & cheap.

Three upgraded hawker centres will reopen for business on Thursday. They are part of the 70 hawker centres that have been given a facelift this year under the National Environment Agency’s (NEA) Hawker Centre Upgrading Programme. Nine more centres are being upgraded under this initiative. The three that are reopening are located at Blocks 160 and 162 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, Block 726 Clementi West Street 2 and Block 216 Bedok North Street 1. All the cooked food stalls at the revamped centres have been retrofitted with a new mechanical exhaust system for better ventilation. Other new features include better lighting conditions, more seats and barrier—free access for the disabled and elderly Source : Yahoo! News

Yes, NEWater is mixed into our reservoir first. However, not everyone gets used to it. I remembered it took a few weeks befoe my mum gets used to it. Anyway, even so, it still does not explain why not all the units in Linear Green are feeling their water is "contaminated". I n fact, I'm also worried that my wate is "contaminated" too, but I cannot test anything now as all my taps are dismantled due to reno. The only water source is my toilet bowl which I sure would not want to drink from there.

Hey BO, don't say that. I believed all of us are equally concerned with this water issue currently. However, I'm just curious. If it's the water tank or any internal piping issue, then it will not be just one or two units facing this water issue. If these are isolated cases, is it because of their own external piping issue or just that they are not used to the NEWater? If they are not used to NEWater, is it because they are not staying in Bedok prior Linear Green? Cos Bedok is one of the pilot place fo NEWater. So many questions in my mind now.........& no answers...........

I have just spoken to Jovi about the water issue. Basically she has not heard anything from any other unit other than one unit in 220C who has the kitchen sink @ the service yard. For that unit, they have used PVC piping instead of copper or stainless steel. She tested the water @ other areas within the same unit (toilets), and all is fine. Only the outlet using PVC piping got a weird smell & taste. Another possibility is that people could be not used to NEWater. I suggest whoever got problem with the water better talk to her now before she leaves on 17th Jan 09 (though she said it should be NEA's prob).
-
I agree too....but who can we "complain" to? I also tried to call Jovi but she is not picking up the phone.
-
They are moving out on 14th Jan I think.
-
I'm using copper pipes...cos my ID said stainless steel pipes will rust.
-
I have not tried the water, but did anybody brought this matter to Jovi or whoever?

Other areas still very messy. Waiting 4 them to clear up all the rubbish 1st then take more pics. Went down this evening & saw my grey dining area mirrors are up but they used white silicon instead of black. Tink will ask the painters to paint over them with the remaining black paint.

The shop @ Marina Square is called East Zing. However, it is not exactly this shop. I bought the same one that East Zing is selling @ another shop in Peninsular Plaza (behind Bata), and it is cheaper by about $30 (@ $140) as compared to East Zing. -
Can buy @ any hardware shop behind Linear Green.

If I never remember wrongly, I think there is a limit of only 2 or 3 items that Town Council will help to dispose for you to prevent people abusing them. You should call them to enquire.
