  1. This is one of the CHEAPEST we have seen and thanks to the recommendation of some forummers to shop at Kelantan Road. The light is about $360. Cheap hor? But dun expect customer service from these people hor? The uncle attitude quite jia lat kind. But for the sake of a good buy, who cares???
  2. hahaha. When we were given the two book of samples, we almost fainted. So many...see until my eyes crossed. Dun be pai say to use your coin or pen to do a 'scratch test' on those samples. We were so totally lost and confused with those laminates that we even went down to their factory/showroom to ask for advice. In addition, seeing the big piece of laminate can also help you make that decision. Once laminate is up, too late to change your mind liao hor.
  3. Hi Honeygal, here's the url. I visited their showroom at Beach Road. Hope it helps... http://www.comfortfurniture.com.sg/viewfreshproduct.jsp Btw, the 30-40% sales I am referring to is not from Comfort Furnishing ya? I am referring to Kartell. Let me know if you need any help
  4. For me it's....ABSOLUTELY YESSSSSSSSSS Toilet bowl is a very personal thing for me...well at least for most females. Dun want my thoughts to go wild on what kind of user the previous owners were. The rest of the reno can wait if no money, but toilet bowl MUST MUST MUST. hehehe
  5. Thanks Mr. Chong. The thing is... SHE has lost the birth cert Try 0200 then. SHE vaguely remembers it to be 0200. Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you soon.
  6. oki oki here is goes...hope it helps COMMON ROOM: IKEA Rim Frost MASTER BEDROOM: Palace Lights at Balestier DINING ROOM: Lian Eng Electric at Kelantan Road
  7. Hey babe, show us pictures of your room leh. Cos u are the one in the family that does the most 'homework' for the reno...so am sure your room will be the nicest bah
  8. I am using edl for my kitchen and it's in piano red. Not a scratch resistent one due to the high gloss. However, every laminate company will have different types. So the choice is completely up to you
  9. ilmare612 sos Mr. Chong Dear Mr. Chong, Could you assist to advice which will be a good day for us to get married? Let's say we targetting at April, if not May 2009. HE : 20 November 1970 (approximately 2355-2359) / Year of the Dog SHE: 12 June 1973 (approximately 0100-0230) / Year of the Ox Do let me know if I miss out any details. With much thanks.
  10. Comfort Furnishing sells quite a bit of designer replica but it's not very cheap too lah. Stone they dun carry but Louis Ghost n Victorian Ghost is about $180-250 if I am not mistaken. Why dun u wait for their sales? It can go as low as 30-40% discount. In fact, the sales could still be on now. Did you check?
  11. Thanks a zillion **Blush Blush** Ya, one of my fren tot we spent 40K on reno. wahaha. Think he not familiar with market price also cos actually our place reno is quite simple actually. We 'glam' it up with fixtures maybe? I bought my lights from a couple of places. Which is the light you keen to know? Lemme know and I will reply u asap
  12. Fixtures means lightings, taps, sinks, etc etc. The voodoo knife was bought overseas...It think its about S$200 bah cos this is the crome version. I think Singapore sells the red version which several forummers also bought from Raffles City. Our contractor is Ho Bee. He came highly recommended in this forum and after using him, I can surely agree with them more. No major issues from them. However, do note that you must have an idea what you want before you engage contractors. They are not designers. They will not give you design ideas. However, if any of your suggestion may pose some issues, he will high-light to you one...This we were appreciatative. Please keep us posted in your process and let us in the forum know if we can help in anyways. By now, many of us already know where to get the better deals from some items
  13. Yes, always have some buffer for your reno cost. Things always change along the way. If 20K is what you budgeted for, then perhaps your reno quote should aim for 18K. Plus minus, will reach around 20K +
  14. ya correcto. My block's picture is on my avatar. You can see. I hv also recently posted a video of my pre-reno and semi-post-reno process. You may see
  15. Hi fellow Segar neighbour. Welcome to the neighbourhood. We are also planning to move in after CNY. Our place is 90% done for reno. All the best and enjoy the process
  16. Dear Mr. Chong, Could you assist to advice which will be a good day for us to get married? Let's say we targetting at April, if not May 2009. 17. Wah...a bit steep hor. Hopefully will have big sales soon. I can still wait, cos house not ready. For that price, can get it custom made wor. But it's beautiful lah. Well done
  18. wow I like it How much again huh? We are also getting two of their dinning chairs but different from yours. Think the name is Novvy if I am not mistaken.
  19. Hi ashes02, 21K +/- is for the carpentery, reno cost, plumping and lighting point works. It excludes the fixtures hor. In addition, it did not cover our toilet tiling work which was done by another contractor and SUBSIDISE by HDB There were defects in the unit we bought, so the HDB council covered the expenses of our haulages and hacking. We merely top-up for the tiles...which we thought was extremely reasonable lah. Yes, the voodoo knife block has always been in our wish-list too but my set is a chrome (silver), not a red. Forgot to change the colour when I posted the video. I think the chrome one is more stylo-milo and it suits our red and silver kitchen theme. We will be having stainless steel as the back-splash, so the chrome voodoo will sit pretty with that background
  20. Mind showing us more and closer picture of the bench? I am looking for one too
  21. Hey, thank you thank you. You did a good job on your unit too. Time flies fast indeed. Shall post more pics when furnishings are up but most likely after CNY liao.
  22. Hey, thanks for the info. May I ask...hope I do not sound stupid. Is there such a door bell that is wired kind but runs with batt? Meaning, I will still be using the default bell button outside my unit but the set itself needs to put batt.
