I was at Singapore Expo last Sunday evening hoping to pick up some bargains at the Metro Christmas Warehouse Sale. Then I realized that there is a Living Tomorrow home furnishing exhibition. Since we are looking for a 3-seater sofa and we have not been to such exhibition for quite many years. We thought it was not a bad idea t check out the exhibition. Most importantly, we saw Lorenzo has a booth there and we are contemplating getting a recliner sofa from them.
Not sure if it was late (around 8pm) or recession is already looming, the show was really quiet. We found the Lorenzo booth and were rather surprised how smallish the space was. There was one other family checking out the sofas. We were quite attracted to a beige sofa set even though it was not a recliner. After we inspected the sofa and held a small discussion amongst ourselves for a while before a young man with spiky hair style reluctantly came to "entertain" us. The service was probably one of the worst I have seen of late and we even had a consensus amongst my family. Asked him one question and he replied as if I owe him money like that. He was in long face through out the conversation I had with him and answered my question in words.
When I asked him the price, he was quick to add that the price in the exhibition was lower than showroom's price, which I am rather skeptical. Before I realized it, my whole family was so put off by his attitude and moved away. Knowing that I am not going to spend my money there, I told him that I would consider and he didn’t even say anything.
So where is the recession? Some salesman like this still thinks that he can move sales with such attitude... Good luck to him then!
