Wah! I love ur kitchen too! Looks really spacious and big w/out the top cabinets. Would love to do this if I don't need storage space. Very nice transformation. Now I really wonder if I will regret not doing my wash area. What happened to the cute porcelain doggie in ur "before" MBR toilet?
-
Wah.. Looks super comfy!
-
Very nice and cozy place! Enjoy ur new home.

Hi pinkpetter & chrono, Haha, it was a very hard decision. I just hope that I don't regret it whenever I see the wash area. Especially after I've seen chrono's nice wash area! Another big reason for doing that was that we wanted/needed to change quite afew light points and ppt. We wana do L-boxes at both dining & living. The whole kitchen's electrical will need to redo also cuz overhaul. Some of the ppts are at super weird locations, like in the middle of the wall... Add here add there, in the end decided to re-wire loh. Pinkpetter, hehe, the toilet bowl pblm still duno yet. We'll be meeting the contractor this evening to take a look at the place. Reaaaaalllllyy hope can change location. hehehehe... the wc in the wash area is i draw one. This floor plan is edited by me into the exact layout as it is now. So in actual fact, there was no wc there in the floor plan purchased from HDB.

Hehe, actually don't need to delete the tingy nor do u need to click on the tree image. Just paste the whole thing in the reply box will do. Recently just found out when I was adding pics to my tblog. anthylau, faster show us pics! -
Happy New Year to u too! Ooo, so when are u getting ur own place? Hee, yeah. Now gota stop shopping liao. Even just paying the deposits, it's already alot. Gota save to buy other more immediate stuff like lights. The basin is $120. Tap is $65.

Hee, better not lar. Rather play it safe. Aniway, still need to apply permit leh. That will take a couple of days liao woh. Yah man, to change everything has a very scary price tag. And it's a bit of a waste, esp the marble flooring. So live with it loh. Scary amount right? Signz. But bobian, cuz we intend to stay here long. And since the last rewiring was done 10yrs ago, we decided to go ahead and do it loh. Guess where the rewiring and ceiling works budget came from? From overhaul of my wash area.
-
Haha, i tink rewiring is best left to the experts. Don't wana switch on the lights and the whole place power trip. But haiz, it's also cuz of the rewiring that we have to redo the ceilings. Still, it's better safe then sorry. Next time if have more $ then do the toilets loh. Harlow harlow! Hee.. alot but not all that we would like to do. So it's not really a total revamp lar. I wana redo all toilets, and my hb wana change the marble floor. But we can't due to budget. Still haven sign quotation, get loan approval and HDB permit leh. I also wana start asap! But we're gg to sign the quotation tml lar. hehehe... So it's one step closer to reno starting date. But hor, looking at the time line, looks like we have to start after CNY liao.

Yeah! We'll be waiting for ur pics! How much did u spend on ur reno? Did you do the whole place or just parts of it? -
Yah loh. It's the carpentry and rewiring that are the killers. U really saved alot by not doing rewiring.
-
Harlow! Hehe, if just move in like this, won't feel like it's my house. 'Cuz none of my "stamp" leh. We going to do these: 1. Hack & relay foyer tiles 2. Hack & relay balcony tiles 3. Overhaul kitchen 4. Overhaul MBR & MBR toilet 5. Redo bedrm 2 wardrobe 6. Lvl2 common toilet - overlay floor tiles & do vanity 7. Change all toilets' WC/basin/screens/doors/accessories 8. Carpentry at foyer and balcony 9. Polish marble 10. Rewiring for whole house 11. Ceiling works 12. Painting 13. Curtains 14. Re-stain wooden banister Total about 35K (excluding curtains, lights, aircon, kitchen/toilet fixtures & accessories, furnishing). No more $$ to redo common toilet or wash area..

Woh.. Very bad service!
-
Nice kitchen! It looks very big fr the pics.
-
Wah.. 3 colours? Aiyo.. Hope ur contractor can rectify it. Take care of urself and get well soon!

The basin is smewhere in the middle of the wash area. We were thinking of shifting it till inside, right at the end of the wash area. Only pic I have of the inside of the wash area

Hope u get good quotes from the contractors I PM-ed u. By the way, will u be doing the whole house, or just parts of it? -
Haha, at least ur agent is not that thick skin to ask for payment. Hmm, even if you decide not to start your reno before 2nd appt, it's good if the seller can shift out early. That way, you can bring your IDs/contractors up to the house to take measurements, view the house to give you more accurate quotes. Then settle all choices (eg: laminate, tiles) beforehand, and you'll be able to start reno works immediately after ur 2nd appt.

Problem with my Wash Area Do you notice the huge white pipe? A contractor told us that it's a pipe linking the WC to the sewage pipe. We were very surprise that such pipes were approved by HDB during the inspections. And since it's a pipe that carries the waste to the real sewage pipe, we're wondering if the location of the WC can be shifted. The current location of the WC is right in front of the wash area entrance. To go into the wash area, we have to walk sideways. It's already a hassle to do that now. Imagine having to lug a huge pail of water/laundry out from the tap/sink area and being forced to walk sideways to get out of the place. That's even worse. Wonder why did the previous owner do such a silly thing. My hb & I initially wanted to hack away the WC and seal up the hole. But on second thoughts, having a WC on level 1 will be easier for our future guests, especially small kids and elderly. They won't need to climb up the stairs to use the washroom. Looking at our floor plan, the correct WC location should be right inside the wash area. Really wonder why it's at it's current location. We've asked our contractor to meet us on Friday to take a look at it, and check if he's able to shift it's location. *Fingers crossed*

Think will have to sign an indemnity form also. It's a risk, but can consider.

Wah.. Rent out for a year or 2, then use the rental $ to pay for the reno if future! Hehehehee... I just hope my reno will be drool-worthy. -
Are those decals on the wardrobe? Very nice touch.
-
Cools. A real total makeover. Looking forward to your transformation.
-
Aiyo, ur agent.. Don't pay him until everything is complete. U guys got a temp place to stay liao izit? Good for ur loh, at least that's one less worry. Maybe u can ask ur sellers if they are able to let u have the house earlier? Then u can start on the reno earlier loh.
-
Haha, yah man. Esp if we are lazy pple who prefer to enjoy our home instead of clean the house. hehehehe
