  1. Congrates on ur new home! Hehehe... Looking forward to more pictures, and here wishing you a smooth reno journey.
  2. Cool! That's just 3 weeks from now! U must be very excited
  3. another one with a wardrobe + accessories room! *envy envy* And in pink some more! Too bad I cant.... Har? Not even an entrance w/out a door? Maybe with a string curtain across the entrance instead of a door? Abit leh chey to open MBR door and go to another room leh..
  4. Haha! Ur kids room light is SO cute! Now left with only carpentry liao izit? That means should be able to handover to u soon liao loh?
  5. Wah!!! 14ft wardrobe plus island for accessories.
  6. Haiz, my kitchen also has weird pillars/wall/pipes. Hee.. well if dun need to hang outside, then I think WM at there should be fine. Hehehe... I'm also going to take glossy laminates, and my hb also prefer glossy ones. Try to choose those laminates that are thicker though, to minimize those wavy effect. I really hope that the white laminates won't turn yellow, cuz I chose white too.
  7. Hehehe, I wanted to suggest white solid surface top to bring out the pink wall tiles. Then realized that u already did the carpentry liao. How about cabinets on the other side of your cooker hood to balance things out?
  8. Agree with pinkpetter that you should get more quotes to compare. But there's quite a number of carpentry, which is always a killer. By the way, did the contractor charge you for hacking the existing carpentry? For the cupboards below the window, maybe you can consider either just changing the doors & keep inside, or hack all away and install shelves. Quite a nice way to display stuff. Oh, my contractor told me that it's not very good to overlay wall tiles. Something about the cement may not hold on to the overlaid tiles well, and may slowly slide down. Not too sure if it's true, maybe u wana check it out?
  9. Hehehe, congrates on becoming the official owner of your new home! Have you decided on a contractor/ID already?
  10. Hee.. I think he sure can handover to u before end march. My reno like super fast like that. Last Sun discussed the electrical works liao. Then he wana meet us tonite to confirm paint colours and cabinet/wardrobe design & laminate. Fast sia... hehehehe Ooo.. I love dark floors. Harder to see my dropped hair. And of course, they look very cool. Hehehhe.. I hope that we'll suit a red kitchen then. *cross fingers & toes* My MIL did comment that red is a trendy colour as well, and with time, may get sick of it. But we should be going ahead with it bah. Just hope that we don't regret later. Haha! Camp camp! Let's light a bonfire as well. Heart pain when handing over the cheque for plastering once, is better than heart pain every single time u see the walls. So go for it! Window grills no problem lah. Yeak kept telling us that it's sth tat is very easy to change one. Hee.. Thanks for the encouragement! Hope that we won't make a wrong choice by going ahead with the red.
  11. Nice nice! Ur bunny very lucky to have it's own little room. Huh? I hate such neighbours. Once or twice it's fine, but not every single night and early in the morning.. If they continue until very late, like past 11pm or so, think u can call police and ask them go knock knock on their door.
  12. Haha, somebody posted a pic of your final drawing on the wall. So cute, and a good way to remind the workers, so that they won't do anything wrongly.
  13. Har?? Just 2 toilets + kitchen $26k? That's abit too much liao leh. Care to show me ur quote? I compare with my prices? Wah.. Ah Soon so busy ah? Did he at least call to say that he can't make it and need to postpone? How about asking him to send the quote via email first?
  14. Yupz, I understand your discription of your MBR toilet. Should look very cool. Wah, looks like u will be using lots of whites, in MBR toilet, common toilet and kitchen. I'm sure ur place will look bright and airy! Ur kitchen should look very welcoming with the glossy lime green:) Hee.. Nvm. I'm sure Yeak's workers will be so fast in their work that they'll make up for u losing that 4 days. Aiyo, u mistaken what I meant lah. I'm saying that Hafary and the rest of the tile shops there don't have the blue mosaic tile design that I chose, and not that they don't have blue mosaic tiles. At least, I didn't see that particular design there lar.
  15. Yah.. Extra cost for the tiles only loh. Yeak said that our mosiac not the whole wall, so did not increase workmanship price. Where did u see the blue mosiac tiles? I bought mine at SBH, and I only saw them there. Did not see these at other tiles shop like Hafary etc.
  16. Wah.. I rem u saying that your other quote was like $20+ k. That amount is lesser than $26k ah? Haiz.. Did u ask Yeak to give discounts?
  17. Wah... So u going to plaster the whole house? That'll cost alot! Icic, Yah, aluminum seems not very safe for a common corridor window. U're thinking of changing to wrough iron? Wah, jeremylm got quite abit of red sia, the top ones are red as well. The design looks cool though. hehe.. I'm thinking of something like mwerkz's kitchen, except that my walls are white in colour. The cabinets' body will be white, and only bottom doors are red for contrast. Think will try to incorporate more whites in. Wah, if u r those pan dang ones, then will u be getting a FSM? Hee.. So what colours did u choose for ur kitchen? Share share leh.. Hehehe, good to hear that u managed to get ur white/green common toilet. Did u get similar tiles as rondy's? My MBR toilet tiles ah? White and blue. We wanted those sexy dark toilets at first. But scare that we'll get sick of it very fast, so decided to go with a happy colour loh. Very happy that I found a blue mosiac tile that I like. Now can't wait to see the outcome!
  18. Rondy, Hmm, don't know why when I replied to u juz now, I didn't see any of the message in bold. Alamak... how come all the colours I like are "heaty" colours?! And that I don't like both green and blue? Now I can only hope that my white tiles will cool the arguments down bah. Hehehehe... Maybe buy more accessories in blue/green? Blue towels, green waste basket, blue cups, green plates, blue pots, green pans.... Waht u tink? Yoz, roamca! Heheh, were u the other forumner that rondy was talking about? Hehhe, so far can only think of u, cuz u signed with yeak also. Hey, good for u! So ur hubby finally said yes to the white and green toilet? Was it because ur went to view rondy's unit? How's the rest of the tiles selection? All confirmed already? *wink wink* It's time to start ur own t-blog for us to Wah, decided on ur kitchen colours already ah? What colour scheme will u be having? My hubby actually likes woody colours for kitchen also, after viewing one house done by yeak. But I said no, cuz I like bright colours. So in the end, it's back to square one (red colour). Hehehe, like what I wrote somewhere here, just hope tat we'll quarrel in the kitchen, and make up in the bedroom. If let me choose grey, I'll choose either very light grey or a very dark one. But can u imagine what my in-laws will say? "Aiyo.. why u choose such a colour?? Black white grey... like funeral colours..." I tell u.. It's a headache..
  19. Yah, see other pple's wood laminate in the kitchen is super nice. But for long, I would like to have bright and happy colours in the kitchen. That's the thing. U have ur green to bring out ur white cabinets. If I don't mix colours in and just use white, my kitchen will be all white and black floor. And I'm SURE that my in-laws will complain. I like pink, but I'm not allowed to use pink in kitchen (by my hb ), so the next best colour is to use red. I think solid colours of green / blue / orange are not nice in the kitchen, don't like those colours as well. Yellow is fine, but my hb sae weird weird.... How how? Very mah fan to compromise and be considerate to in-laws also.
  20. Haha, of course no hard feelings lar. It's very nice of ur to give advice and share thoughts woh. After reading the posts at Jupiter Home's tblog, and in the fengshui section, I was abit concern about this. And my hb and I did consider changing. But after looking through the laminate books, we can't really find one that we like. Did think of wood-lookalike laminates, but the rest of my 1st floor laminates and furnishing are dark wood already. So abit scare that it's too much wood loh. In the end, my hb say just stick with red and white loh. After all, we both like the outcome. Cham lah... I now having 2nd thoughts again. And we are meeting Yeak tomorrow evening to confirm the paint and laminate colours! How about if I minimize the red colour? *headache*
  21. Hehe, okok. Thanks for the advice!
  22. !!!!! Can I go ur house and play with the GR? I totally love GRs!!! So many doggies, ur house very happening. heheh
  23. Harlow! It'll be red and white. Was thinking of changing at first, as some forumners advised that red is not a good colour for kitchen. But in the end, just can't resist the bright colour.
  24. Hmm.. unless ur kitchen windows are very low, I don't think the washing machine will block the window bah. Washing machine there will let u have more counter top (which I like!), but the con is that it'll be very hard to hang clothes outside. Btw, I love the colours in the first pic! Hehehe.. which one will u choose? The red/white design or the grey/white one?
  25. I think it's cuz a cabinet will be installed there? The other side of the kitchen (with the low wall one), also don't have tiles on top, and that's where my cabinets will be. So think only washing machine & fridge base will have tiles on top, cuz exposed mah. Ur cabinet base got tiles on top?
