  1. Haha! 666, that's very fast! Congrates on finding a contractor tat ur ILs like. hehe, wen will they be starting their reno?
  2. Haha, how's the edited signature?
  3. Hehe, sounds like ur place will be very interesting! When do u intend to start ur reno work?
  4. Ohhhh, icic. Now I get what you mean. Hehehe, but I kinda agree with Yeak on this. Imagine the moisture seeping in btw the glass panels and walls. In future you'll have algae/mould growing inside and you won't b able to clean them unless u take down the glass panels. Not very worth it and a real hassle to clean. Maybe u can try those in a well ventilated area elsewhere bah.
  5. Ooo, so did Jason/Ah Soon say that the date is fine with them? Ur reno is going at a good speed now, so think should be ok bah rite? Hehe, so it's confirmed liao lar! So many pple feel that Ah Soon needs a PA. Pet! Go for it and suggest!
  6. Rondy, angel, roamca, preciousjam, sixer, ling3bzr (most likely, bt not confirm yet). Think this is the order bah. Anyone I've missed out? Maybe one of us should add this in to our signature. haha
  7. Cheap quotes and everyting also ok is one thing. But if he can't do what he promises, then that's not very good. Like for those who have to shift in by a certain date due to FS reasons or flat sold off no place to stay, by postponing the handover date again and again.. Not very good. Hehe, a PA would really help him. And his PA can call him up to remind him abt his next appt, instead of clients calling & reminding him. Pet, go for it and intro the pax u have in mind to Ah Soon. hehehe... Hopefully we'll hear good stuff soon, about him being on time for appts and stuff!
  8. Haha, also duno if it's true anot. Don't think he'll have so much time to surf the net bah. Everyday supervise work and meet pple. At night still gota type out quotations for clients. And still gota spend time with his family leh? And sleep? hehehehe.. I think he took afew days to give me the first quotation, cuz he had to go msia. But he sent it to me on the day he promised me. That's what I like. He don't over promise.
  9. Hehe, will you be keeping all those nice nice colours? Wah, glass panels look nice, but no privacy during biz time and gota clean them frequently. Hehe, mosaics are very nice too. Will give some sparkles to ur toilets!
  10. Hehe, confirm must be u liao lar! And u can get more biz for him as well through RT! So u'll be secretary and sales person rolled into one. Uncle Soon should pay you twice the amt then. heheheheheeh
  11. Hehe, maybe he needs a secretary to take his calls and remind him abt his appts. Then at least he won't be taking all calls and can do his work without distractions.
  12. Hehe, I like to ask for names. If not gota call them "erh" or "uncle". hehehe.. Yupz, mid 30s I think. And dun wear specs one. Nice guy. But now most of the names I already forget liao.
  13. Har? Uncle Soon seems to be falling abit in standard? I rem that time pinkpetter said that Ah Soon said that he'll do a good job for all, as all of us share info in RT. If he gets a bad name, he'll get lesser biz. How come now like that?
  14. Hehe, good challenge for him. And can expand his portfolio.
  15. Haha! Ah Boon or sth like that right? His tiler very nice guy.
  16. Looks nice and big. The owner has lots of stuff in the living room!
  17. Hee, actually I'm suggesting that you still use 2x13W downlights. I feel that their lights are bright enough. And for areas where you don't do much, can reduce the lights. Save future electrical cost, and makes the place cozier. For the spotlights in ur wardrobe, I would kinda rather save up those $$ and spend on decor. Like wat rondy said, you won't spend much time in ur wardrobe. Even if you are not going to use Yeak's electrician, you can always ask his opinion about the number of lights. I'm sure he'll gladly assist/advise. Hehe, another good point about Yeak is that he'll change his locks frequently. I think it's one lock for each set of workers (ie: one lock for the tilers, one for the electricians, one for carpentry, etc). We always need to rem diff numbers. hehe.. At least pple who wana steal things won't be able to enter once the lock has been switched.
  18. Hehe! Kong Tai is good! The prices are really cheaper as compared to HN and those big stores. Or can wait for GSS or IT show.
  19. Huh? For wat? *scratch head* To see if match anot ah? haha, just go my tblog to see my MBR toilet loh.
  20. Hehe, I actually like ur layout and to have a WIW just outside the toilet. Easy to get stuff before/after bathing. But in view of the mould, I'll rather sacrifice the ease. If not next time wait my clothes got mould and gota throw. hehehe
  21. Hehe, if u have ur tiles samples, place them next to the the laminates to see the overall feel. That time I didn't have my tiles samples with me when we choose the laminates. And we chose a laminate tat we like for our MBR toilet vanity, but dun really match the toilet tiles.
  22. It will loh. That time I wanted to do a WIW in front of my toilet. But all 3 contractors/IDs that I talked to, all say that it will be damp and cause mould to grow. In the end, X the idea loh. *WIW dream flew out of the window* How about the wardrobe facing the windows instead? The hollow blocks will be inside, and you can put up open shelves or hooks to hang ur used clothes, keep ur laundry baskets/toiletries, etc. Instead of hollow blocks, I think it's possible to put up enforced partitions behind ur wardrobe to save $$ on doing hollow blocks. One of the forumners, Chronograph, did something like this (if I rem correctly) and tiled the partition. Very nice.
  23. Mr Yeak! Go for Mr Yeak! hehehehehe... He's a good choice. No regrets so far. But I think Uncle Soon will be slightly cheaper if go by the quotes they gave familyof4.
  24. Hehe, I vote for the 3rd one too!
  25. Hehe, that's quite alot of downlights you got there. IMHO, can always try to reduce abit for areas where u won't be doing much reading or activities. For eg, the MBR, can try to reduce to 2 downlights on each side, esp since u have the cove lights. And for ur walkway, if u won't be doing much stuff there, can reduce the no. of lights as well. But if u will be playing mj or sth there, then the lights are fine. The living room lights can be reduced to 2 each as well, save cost and future electricity. I like the spotlight idea for the WIW, but will they become a white elephant in future?
