Haha! Ur bf must be quite a perfectionist! Hee, thanks for searching. If can find then post to show show bah.

Ur bf should pay u to maintain the landscape. It's big biz leh!

I didn't want to do bases at first. But my MIL has a habit of washing the kitchen at the previous place. I didn't know if she'll do that again at my place, so just did loh. In the end, I quite like the base. The base will allow my toes to move in and b closer to the counter top, easier to cook and lean against the counter top. If there's no concrete base, I believe the contractors will do a wooden base to elevate ur kitchen cabinet doors to avoid them scraping against the floor. And wooden bases are not as hardy as concrete bases, as the space btw the floor to the cabinet bottom is empty. At least I know my concrete base won't crack and my heavy pots/pans fall through. Hope u understand what I'm trying to explain. hehehehehe

Hehehe, tink u r right. The dark coloured furniture really makes dust much more visible. Although my balcony has a roof, but we always open the windows and doors when we're at home, so makes no difference. More pics of ur place please.

Hehe, go go! It's a should-get item. Saves lots of trouble, esp when u wana get sth when u're cooking. Oh, I think IMM Hoe Kee don't display all their ss racks. Just ask them if they have any other sizes if you don't find what u wan. That time, I went to the one near Jalan Besar, and there's quite alot more selections there. Just that they didn't have extra stock of my crockery ss basket, that's why I went to IMM to get all of mine together. While I was at IMM, I didn't see the one I wanted and asked them for it. Then they showed it out for me at some hidden corner.

Hehe, icic. Okay, I'll put that idea across to my hb. But hor, our plants keep dying leh. Those 2 large plants at the back of our tank. Those we removed liao. Now our tank abit empty, duno wat type of plants to keep. Any suggestions?

Haha, ya nvr say nvr. Last time wen I was young I told myself that I'm nvr gg to live with my ILs. Now, they're living with me. Tell me about the dust man! My place quite windy, and with the wind comes the dust. Aiyoooooo.. My coffee table and tv console very dusty. Well, at least u guys fulfilled ur childhood dream. Better than nvr right? Ur new place sounds very good, and it seems that ur whole family likes the place.

Hehe, I heard my name! Ur drawing of ur kitchen looks very much like mine! I think so far the planning sounds good. But hor, I kinda feel that the area for ur pots/pans look pretty small. If I read correctly, only one cabinet space is planned for it right? How would ur mom put those big woks that older folks use? If put sideways, then ur big pots won't be able to go in liao. Yah, the ss baskets are really useful! I'm loving mine to bits. It's a should-get. Speaking about the ss baskets. It's better to get the dimensions from ur carpenter then buy. Or u can buy first, inform ur carpenter about the size and tell him to do the cabinet size accordingly. The reason for this is that if the cabinet width is too small, then u've wasted $$ buying the racks. If the cabinet width is too big, the carpenter will normally add wood on both sides to fix the tracks to the cabinet sides. This will be a waste of precious space. Hee, old folks are like that. My FIL wanted another cabinet for a 2nd gas tank too! But heng my hb refused. One last thing, have u decided where u'll keep ur cooking aids like spatulas, scoops, knifes, veg peelers, mashers, measuring cups, etc? For me, I don't like to mix them with my utensils, so I have a special drawer for them.
-
No probs. I'll go home tonight to take pics, and try to post tml. Yoz! Think they're about $100. I heard from preciousjam who bought it yesterday at the same place, it's $105. Length is standard length, from what I'm told. It's the width that varies. The impt part for us was the width, as that cabinet could not be wider than 14". So we were very lucky to find one the size that we wanted.

Hee.. Floor lamp "zhor-dang" mah. And if get a floor lamp, I'll prefer to have warm light, instead of the white light needed to study/work.

Ick. That confirms my stand that I'm nvr going to get puffer fishes. No matter how cute they are. Can't bear to see other fishes eaten by the puffer fishes.

So guess it's bye bye Hello88 and Welcome born_again! Hehe, put the unhappiness behind you and enjoy ur new home! Wao, ur living looks very bright and airy! Nice. More pics please, now that u have ur own tblog.
-
Haha, icic. Good that u can save $$ on ur curtains. Hehe, like I was saying in my tblog, tell ur hb tat it's u who use the kitchen, so u should have the say of wat u need or dun need. Hehe, then tell him that u already save him $$ by not getting the Blum system. So he should buy the ss racks for u to put pots/plates/etc!

Harlow! I wanted to do one full height one in my wash area to put mops/pails/brooms/washing liquids etc, but didn't in the end. Reason being that the pails after use will be wet, and it won't be good to put them into cupboards as mould may grow or the water may spoil the wood. To dry them outside then keep them inside defeats the purpose to hide the pails when not in use. (And I tink I'll be too lazy to do that!) So I did a suspended one in my wash area, the height to be suspended will be the height of my pails. Inside the cupboard, I store my cleaning liquids, hangers, toilet paper, tissue boxes, laundry bags, etc. Brooms I keep in the cupboard where my box up pipes are. Mop I hang across the bamboo poles holder outside my kitchen windows. If u need, I'll take a pic for u to c. Let me know ya?

Hehe, u're most welcome to drop by. PM me when u wana drop by and we'll discuss on the date/time? Oh cool! The same 14" one? Hehe, I think the big ones for pots/pans are good leh. It's troublesome to take the front stuff out to get those hidden inside. Must convince him.. After all, u'll be the one using the kitchen, so u should decide what's needed and what's not right? Hmm, u seem to be asking all of us who signed up with Yeak this question hor? Well, discount is up to indvd projects and it's hard to tell u how much. It all depends on how much Yeak is able to give.
-
Hmm, I think if all also 2x18W should be fine bah. Just rem to think of where you will be doing work/reading and where future kids will be doing their homework. That place will need to be bright bright.

Hehe, if u guys know what are the designs that you want for ur place, getting things settled early is good too. During reno dun need to rush. Hehe, faster book him then! Wah, so nice of ur dad to help paint ur house. U can invite ur frens over and have a house-painting party. hehehehe So did u take pics of the lights that u bought? Show us leh. Hehe, which ss rack did u buy? The spice one or the ones I used to put crockery? Hehe, at least now more and more stuff are settled. Can look forward to shifting house liao. heheehehe.. Oh, have u started looking for curtains lobang? Think can start liao. Haha, confirm it's ur model! I think if I'm Yeak, I'll break into cold sweat. hehehehehe... Yah, like I mentioned to newnyew before, glass backsplash in toilet not ideal. Wait got mold grow inside and cannot clean them. I rem newnyew said that she X the idea and should be doing mosaics liao.
-
Ooo! Both the mosaic and feature wall in ur MBR very nice!

Taugres not alot of selections. Think LSH got more selections. There's another SBH at Jurong, just opp IMM. Quite alot of mock ups on the 2nd flr, but alot of their tiles are from Italy/Spain etc. So there'll be different dimensions from China tiles (the usual tiles chosen). Even if their tiles stated 30 by 60cm, there'll be little differences like 31.5cm by 61.5cm. So it'll be rather impossible for the tilers to align the tiles if you choose from different countries.

The Topic Parents Avoid
Angel81 replied to clockwork's topic in Pregnancy,Parenthood and Education Matters
Haha! Funny story! I have a colleague who has a 3yr old boy. He'll sleep on the bed while the parents sleep on the mattress next to the bed. There was once when my colleague and hb thought that the son was asleep and decided to have some *ahem* time. After awhile one of them looked up and saw the son lying on his stomach and looking at them, smiling. -
Hehe, ask her to close her windows to sleep. This will definitely reduce the noise much more. Think u guys have already done ur part by changing into a quieter vacuum cleaner liao. The rest is up to her.

Ooo, I just checked out the colours at Dulux's webbie and they should look good together. From the webbie, Dream Yellow does look kinda light though.
-
Haha yah loh. I rem he showed xherion ur kitchen pics too.

Hehe, that time I asked him to meet us at my place to take the actual measurements before giving us the first quote.
