maybe he think women is nothing for him, as u said his parents divorce long time ago liao, it means his father be a single parent , take care for him without women(mother) and everything is ok till now. so maybe he think ... if hv a wife is ok....dont hv a wife also ok...wat... or maybe he hate his mother? and not hv faith in women anymore.. heheheh....just guesss
