  1. uh huh, totally fun. doing plans on floorplanner, then kena scold by partner that i want to live in a storage area with a bed cause i planned for so much storage! haha
  2. haha yah! now you know why my partner refuses to spend too much on reno, coz he know's i'll be itching to move/redo/reno again in a few years time! haha thanks.... realized landed reno is very very different, have to see what flooring was poured, setback, lots of stuff to think of!
  3. Hey Rimblock, may need to tap into your expertise soon.... trying to figure out how to have one mio box, but able to watch in 2 tv's in 2 different floors, plus also watch movies that are in our server, plus hook up the HTS in the masterbedroom to play music all over the house.... arrghhhh!!!!!!!!
  4. built up is about 2100 sq ft only, and we're not planning any major stuff, just partition here, hack this and that!
  5. arrghhh office server blocks picassa/flickr etc. will have to upload pics later!
  6. 7. Guess I might as well start a blog here.... would be interesting to record the reno journey also. Will post pics and floor plan later. Not going for total rebuild coz the place was just rebuilt 2 years ago, although from the condition of the house you wouldn't think so! Structurally sound but decor wise, leaves a lot to be desired. Bought it for the "possibilities" but all the possibilities cost money! Not planning to spend much cause knowing me, I'd be itching to move again in 4-5 years time, hehe. Will post the first ludicrous quote I received, which almost made me fall off my chair when I saw it! Hopefully some of the other firms I contacted will be weilding a slightly smaller cleaver to chop this carrot!
  8. haha, yeah, 3 reno's in 3 years! should be pro liao but now doing landed, totally different!
  9. footprint, friend of mine (from the forum actually) asked me if they were running the pipes through the nile!! ely, like what a lot of ppl said, you be the good guy, give coffee, cakes, etc. then let your hb be the bad guy and crack the whip!
  10. footprint, just managed to read through your entire blog, really nice house! really love your kitchen! guess with my new reno will be spending more time in renotalk again!
  11. hang in there Ely, the end will be there soon! I'm still in the midst of looking for a builder/ID and the first quote I got was charging me $350k, even if I had emphasized that I didn't need a total rebuilt as the house was rebuilt 2 years ago!! Imagine charging me $20k for plumbing, $28k for aircon and almost $90k on carpentry!! I almost fainted when they said they wanted to change the newly laid parquet so it will be "nice"!!!!
  12. hey Ely, sorry to hear you're having issues with reno. Hope things will be sorted for you soon!
  13. ooops... am still away, back Monday. keep forgetting to turn off that phone! can you please tell them i'm back on Monday and will be able to receive calls then??
  14. hey hey! finally seen this! Let me know when's a good time to drop by!
  15. haha yeah! we'll pretty much be neighbors!!! can't believe i'm doing my 3rd reno in 3 years. The reality just struck me right now!
  16. wow! what are you doing? Does that include the furniture you had made? haha maybe it's because i'm so used to moving/packing/unpacking it's robotic now, and my helper knows exactly what to do! think we've confirmed the place, at least the OTP has been signed, so now we start looking for contractors etc! fun fun fun!!! hehe have had the discussion on shower mixers with the fiancee, he balked at the price of the Grohe stuff, so don't think i'm going get that for the bathrooms. will look at the kitchen ones though! will try to find time to do a t-blog !
  17. don't regret any purchase! from what i've seen they're all very nice!!! am sure you'll find a place for it somewhere!! yeah, hoping to confirm a home soon. the reno bit is fun, it's the unpacking and putting away stuff I don't like!! And I'm not sure if I'll be of much help this time, first time I may be doing up a landed home... so it'll be trial and error too!!
  18. wow. haven't been reading here for a while and just saw your blog, really nice purchases and gorgeous view from your apartment! will deffo take note of this blog cause i'm going to do reno again (yep, 3rd move in 3 years!)
