LOL, is it? I'm not really much into feng shui... how come? But doubt hb will give those away, as they were given to him by his god parents... brought from China when they first moved to singapore... i already broke 2 of the 4 given to him!!
-
that said, i think everyone's doing it these days anyway. was it finland or some other europoean country who had former brazilians in beach volleyball?
-
thanks! yours are also very nice!
-
i think there is a difference though, Tan howe liang grew up in singapore, the paddlers moved to singapore when they were already established players... someone from another forum i frequent likened it to being mercenaries during the feudal warlord times... am not sure if it's 100% the same

that was one of the benefits of working for a spice company a long time ago!
-
it's pretty sensitive, on one hand, they did give up their lives/careers/family in china to become singapore citizens... but on the other hand, would they have gotten as much recognition if they stayed in china? are they the best here in singapore but would only have been 2nd best in china? but like the previous poster said, we're all immigrants here anyway... some just came earlier than the others

We've finally moved in, furniture and all.. unpacked all the 85 boxes, 9 suitcases and dunno how many plastic box worth of stuff.. didn't think we would ever finish! Here are some pics at last! Living Room view from the dining area TV console in the living room Sofa across the tv Brighter pic of the sofa area ID's idea to build the 'cave" to separate the 2 display cabinets, so won't look like a furniture store

Yep, totally agree on buying good quality furniture rather than an el cheapo/faddish one that would crumble after a few years. Granted you won't have the flexibility of getting a new look for your house every few years, but keep your basics good, and just change the things around it.

hehe i also work full time but have a helper at home... give her something to do!
-
hi, i actually think the white looks nice with the brown ceiling, the contrast with black may be too stark?
-

think it's true... coz we had to get an extra one for my MIL a long time ago, that time had to pay $100 i think... the normal locksmith don't have the equipment to do this type of key

not THAT close, but yeah, the body is telling me 50 is closing in!!
-
that's a great view from your balcony.... ideal coffee corner
-
yikes, but yes, i'm closing in on 50 fast... super scary! if you want to scare your wife.. tell her when we moved, we had 85 huge boxes to unpack, not including the 8 suitcases, and other boxes we brought ourself! took 2 huge trucks to move everything... the movers kept asking how to fit in your new place...
-
hahahahaha that's the best ever.. i'm definitely NOT young!!! LV is cheap in Paris, but hb keeps hinting for me NOT to buy coz he said we just spent a bomb on the house

If you're worried about some smell, get a box of Bounce, add to the clothes before drying... when your clothes come out it will smell super nice (Bounce is a fabric softener too, helps prevent too much lint)

you put 1 part of bleach in a spray bottle, then add 4 parts of water (i.e. 1 cup to 4 cups), shake and use! try using the one you have at home first, dab a little in a cotton ball and try a small portion and see if it comes off... take care not to drop any on your painted wall as the colour will run.
