  1. really like the colours you are going to use, very bright and cheery!!
  2. going to put a full length mirror, something I had from my old house and am hoping to DIY re-varnish... the backyard I have is quite large, can put sink, washer, dryer, cooking area and most probably some shelving on the other wall still... i actually have loads of those toyogo black plastic shelving, if i have extra, will probably sell it off or give away what is the charcoal stove for??
  3. thanks... will have to get my ID to measure the exact space I have
  4. also had a rainshower in my previous place... will try out this one and if it's not what I like then I'll get someone to change it.. i like strong strong water when I have a shower!! the door has been removed and walled up! that's where the backyard cooking area will be!!
  5. am already considering it's slow since I got my keys 22nd of March! will try to go over again later if I feel better (got suspected dengue!!) and take more pics, think the bulk of the carpentry will be done today/tomorrow. The kitchen is really tiny, just two walls facing each other, that's why I had to extend the wet kitchen into the yard in the back, which kinda works out too so the heavy cooking will be outside and the smells won't get into the living area yeah, called styleline but someone named Tiffany came to do the measurements. Was scared to use bamboo at first but it's much more environmentally friendly than teak or chengai so decided to use it anyway. my fiancee is calling me crazy but the one thing I'm looking forward to is unpacking! haha
  6. agree!!! we have once resorted to sending our IT manager to comcentre and insist to speak to a senior manager cause our office broadband kept dropping and we had no access to emails.... he go there bang table and shout out loud and the guy he was speaking to just said, "we will check and revert"
  7. there's this hardware in upper bukit timah where you can get blum items at good prices too
  8. looking forward to more pictures.... put liao the link liao!
  9. not by choice really... but it is fun too, change of scene and space.. but I SWEAR this is the last for a while!! Moving is a great way to de-clutter also... every time I move, I donate anything I haven't used in the last 2 years....
  10. coming along nicely liao!!!! when is the handover date?? have updated some pics in my blog finally too!!
  11. it does look nice! do you know the dimensions of the table top? my chairs look very similar to yours and am wondering what size of glass top I should order.
  12. hey Mickey, read your blog (and a lot of other blogs!!) but rarely have time to post.... but saw you were looking for those velvet red curtain materials right? Think I saw some in Joo Chiat complex, you can check it out!
  13. 22 ft is 6.7 meters (thanks to google)... so possible based on your floor plan. in my previous house, the carpenter used no-brand anti slam hinges and they worked quite well..... when we got our first house, me and my ex-hb did a lot of the things ourselves, like painting the whole flat, and bought our furniture piece-meal, so not so siong at one go, or get from Ikea, which surprisingly lasted up to 10 years!
  14. Will count the number of MK switches to be given away free!!!
  15. hmm dunno leh, have never done up a kitchen! that's why I always end up with pigeon hole kitchens that aren't what I want but too wasteful to tear down! are the tracks and anti-slam hinges Blum or ordinary brand? (wish i had 22 ft in MY kitchen!!! so jealous!!) have you asked other contractors? i would recommend mine coz their work is very very good but his price is on the high side maybe best to get the experts here to see your detailed quote...
  16. think you should consider what are your needs vs wants, if your needs add up to that amount then bo pian, if some are wants, then can weed out and slowly add in after you've saved a bit in the future?
  17. Where did you get the dining set?? Looks nice!
  18. Same here, been accused of having OCD coz everything has to be in order, alphabetized and arranged by size I know it's not a good idea to change especially since I tend to move every 2 years! at least my ID is using Blum for all the carpentry he's building for me...
  19. hey, i need to go to yeun tat too... maybe if we go together we can get a discount
  20. hmmm i like the idea of C, coz there won't be a large storage area that would greet your guests when they enter... unless you can use it as a design feature with a painting/nice laminates?
  21. So much carpentry!!!!!!!! Will all my shoes fit? hehe
  22. Back yard which will be the wet kitchen with stainless steel table and sink Same area tiled up
  23. Right side of kitchen left side with built in hob/hood/microwave Space where fridge is supposed to be, a tower cabinet will be put there to house the oven... fridge will go to the HS behind Dish drainer with no cover.. scared of roaches !
  24. Finally found the camera cable, so some pre-reno pics! Guest bathroom showerhead.... the water pressure not very impressive! view from master bedroom Master bedroom feature going up with dressing table beside it
