I do enjoy decorating too... change things here and there, it's a never ending process, isn't it? really fun though! Will try to take pics during the day, maybe when we finally finish the upholstered wall in the MBR (DIYing it, health hazard! I almost cut my fingers off!!) and I do get what you mean about the "doesn't look like what you said it would look like risk!!" My ID gave me the drawings with dimensions and showed me how the actual meaurements would be using a measuring tape, of course it's still not the best way coz i had to use my imagination. i do regret getting him to build the feature wall in the living room.... i ended up HAVING to buy a tv for it, would have much rather just had a sitting area! no one watches the tv outside anyway!! no choice for the MBR coz the space was so small... good luck on your quote! hope your reno goes smoothly!! -
the key to make the place look bigger is to find a focal point to capture the attention, rather than seeing the whole picture, draw the eyes towards one point. Also make sure your ceilings are painted at a lighter colour than the walls. It's a misconception that walls must be very light to make the place look larger, deep colours MAY deepen the perspective and give the feeling of space. using mirrors to enlarge a space does work, but not in all areas, the picture you had attached there makes me feel like i'm entering a dress shop rather than a home. I personally think mirrors should enhance a space, but it should be strategically installed rather than slap shot over a whole wall... just my point of view...

Haha, mus be because I move a lot! but no expert, there are many many many here who are much better than I am! I'm just a frustrated interior decorator! So much so I almost cut my finger off DIY'ing an upholstered wall in my MBR! -

actually, it depends on the room size, wall location etc. Sometimes full length mirrors put in the wrong place will make the room look like a strangely positioned fitting room One has to evaluate the space, function, size etc of the area and decide from there... being classy isn't about big or small mirrors, it's about the total effect on the room -
it's all in the Brit papers! he even had his lawyers at the court hearing yesterday.

yah, am in bangkok now and walked past a spa that looked just like your garden!!!! will you have a massage bed by the side and we will all line up properly to have a back rub
-
oh yes! exciting and TIRING!!! but definitely fun... part of the fun for me is to find a place to put things and organizing.... which I know is strange but there's a certain peace to organizing things! have you seen the Kenneth Cobunpue stuff? Really nice rattan stuff, but very ex! The annoying thing is that my sister said she knows his sister and can get factory price!!!

best ambience to cook up a storm!

not long to HO! did you manage to find your outdoor furniture yet?
-
love your kitchen combo! for some reason very soothing!

my current place has sun only in the service balcony in the back (must be the position of the building), it's good for drying clothes (must wash first thing in the morning). Frustrating coz I like to putter around with plants in the balcony and my babies are not getting any direct sunlight at all!! Would also love the feeling of basking in the sun over a cup of coffee on the weekends.... I know, I'm weird

so you blocked the windows? won't it make the room dark/no air? -
i get what you mean too.. I too have OCPD, to the point where my towels need to be folded the exact same way, the cans in my pantry must be arranged by height and must have all the labels facing front... imagine living with someone who can find 2 wk old ice cream wrappers in his jean pocket!!! don't get me started on dirty clothes mixed with clean ones... our helper now intercepts him when he goes to put clothes inito the closet and takes his clothes away with her to wash.... btw, how's the reno going?? how long more before hand over?
-
sometimes I wonder if there is a right and wrong to it though... should it be live and let live?
-
because some people has a method to their madness (aka messiness) and when i organized it, they couldn't find anything!!! i've actually once wanted to start an organizing business (they're quite popular in the US) but wasn't sure if there is demand here!
-

true true... not that my current bedrooms are large! it's a small apartment!! dunno yet, not yet sure... itchy backside agreed to let my agent friend bring ppl over to view, coz i could earn about 300-400k.... one of the couples who came to see offered close to what i wanted... so deciding now! but have to find somewhere to stay also, very ex now!

it really looks super comfy though! and lucky you can put a 3 m sofa in your living room.... mind only 2 meters and it already looks too big! that said..... i might be renovating (moving) again!! yooooo hoooo

there were rumours a Singaporean firm was the other bidder... Tamasek?? (seeing that they own 19% of SC bank???)
-
I actually know exactly what you mean!!!! When we were moving fiancee was stuck in Europe coz of the ash cloud, blessing in disguise! I could slowly unpack the boxes without someone saying shirts don't have to be straight, there is no point in putting plates and bowls in the same cupboard etc! he even got upset I organized his wardrobe!!!

haha we can pressure him to do the cleaning once your reno is done! hi.... did you see the ones i got custom made in my blog?
