Thanks Mr Chong! I have noted ur advise, and we will shift our fridge to another location

Cannot wait to see the full transformation...

Hi Mr Chong, May i know what is the reason not to place fridge in front of the toilet door? Would appreciate your advise as we actually did our design for the fridge to face the common bathroom door directly. Thank you

Hi L3x, Thanks! I certainly hopes so... we do not install glass to separate the kitchen and living. But that was the plan initially .... until our ID suggested to extend the island all the way into the floors of our living area. That was a pretty bold idea which we will never have tot about.

understand from my colleague that having a fan directly above your bed would have a detrimental effect on both your work & health... but don't really know the exact impact... but still, on the same side, i drop the plan of having a ceiling fan in my MBR...

Yap! We hack the wall in between the living and kitchen. It tooks us alot of effort and time to convince both our parents thou... Guess it is not so easy for them to accept 'open' kitchen, as their perception of open kitchen would mean entire area will be filled with smoke and grease...

can try Surface @ defu lane. (if you can wait) Good service, but guess their stocks are quite minimal... alot of variety, but good one are usually out of stock, have to wait....

get my 2x13 at $27. No point asking for recommendations... you really need to do your homework well to avoid being "chop" by these ruthless shopkeepers...

Was worried about tempered glass being shattered in time to come... but was educate by my ID that the only weak points for tempered glass are the sides of those thick pieces of glass... if use hammer or any hard object hammered straight at the sides, CONFIRMED guarantee plus chop will 100% shattered. But who does that anyway... so my point is --> go ahead and do it, it will turn out really nice... p.s. ur balcony right inside your MBR... so dreamy...

We got a quotation from EI during last march as well... think the ID name is Frankie... Nice guy... detailed, friendly and humorous... but i think generally for EI, you have to be patient with them... business too good liao... p.s. But in the end we did not engage EI, as we are looking for something more designer. ..EI provides reliable services but design-wise needs to be slightly improvise... (juz my 2 cents worth) -
Heard alot of bad review about LNL... so was abit skeptical when my ID wanna bring us to Singapore Lighting Mart as it is another subsidiary linked to LNL. But from this experience, i feel that to be fair to yourself and also the shops, you really have to do your homework well. It REALLY makes alot of difference! Especially when it comes to price negotiation. And maybe it is also becos that my ID managed to get the in-charge of SLM to quote us, we managed to get a rather reasonable rate directly without any of those stuffs like e.g. "wait huh, i check with my Boss" .... He gets to make decision which makes our trip sweet and simple... So today total damage on lightings and ceiling fan was $1800!! The most expensive buy was a crystal hanging lights for our island and dining table. heart pain... but it is really very nice lor. we just love it... Invoice for the day ---------------------- 1) 34 units of PLC 2) 2 hamburger lights 3) AirCrack bathroom light 4) 24 units fluorescent holder 5) 4 unit crystal hanging lights 6) 1 unit 60" Tamco Petite Senorita Ceiling lights Yar! The first time we ask them abt the movie door, was also surprised to know that it cost more than our tempered glass door. If got chance, i go there and take pic and show u...

 My ID call them movie door... But i think most ppl don't call it that... It's like a normal door, which swings inward. A full panel of glass framed up using aluminum. And it is very expensive... our tempered glass door for MBR toilet was quoted $680, but my ID quoted us the movie door for $740. so apparently the tempered glass door seems like a cheaper alternative...

West Facing Rooms- Very/too Hot?
tofler replied to gohvicc's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
Been staying in W hse for abt 10 yrs... The prob with it as compared to the NS hse is that walls would be very much hotter... and it tends to crack more easily... Apart from that, there's nothing else which makes the place too unbearable for any stay... p.s. Move your bed away from the wall facing the evening sun, use a better paint like weather prove paint for that side of wall... That would solve all the evening sun prob... And rem... you need an aircon for your place... Singapore is really hot... -
hacking is a 1 time job, no matter what you are going to hack, they will charge u 1 lump sum. This one i think u can negotiate... As for polishing of kitchen top... nt too sure... but i repolish my marble flooring is $900 for whole living... the area shd be bigger than ur top bah... i think.
